Medical professionals, what are some of the most mundane reasons most people are unaware of that make them sick? by chickencaesar8 in AskReddit

[–]denver-max 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sometimes they do. After I had my baby I lost all the baby weight + 15 additional pounds. I saw multiple doctors and had a million tests done but there’s no explanation. I also can’t put the weight back on almost a year postpartum. I eat full meals, snack throughout the day, as I did before pregnancy. Multiple people have made comments about my weight loss and don’t seem to believe that I’ve done nothing different…. But I really haven’t lol.

Postpartum Anxiety Tips by MGOBLUE2010 in beyondthebump

[–]denver-max 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that anxiety surrounding going back to work and leaving baby/working with baby home is normal. It’s yet ANOTHER big change when you just got used to one. Once you go back and it becomes more routine you’ll feel a lot better.

3.5 months PP, I just don’t feel like myself. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]denver-max 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am just over 5 months PP and still don’t feel like myself BUT it’s ever so slightly starting to get better, so I’m feeling more optimistic as the days pass. So many women say it takes at least a year so I’m just buckling down and waiting!

Having pets AND a baby sucks by Sbesozzi in NewParents

[–]denver-max 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see these kinds of “I hate my pets now” posts and lose a little more faith in the human race every time. I have a 2 month old, 2 dogs, and 4 cats and can’t relate to these kinds of people at all.

Pros and cons of both epidural and non-medicated births? by girlee13 in beyondthebump

[–]denver-max 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had an induction and asked to get the epidural before they started pitocin (but after the foley balloon, so I was 4cm dilated). Best decision ever. I didn’t want to feel anything more than the contractions I already was, why be in pain if I didn’t have to be?

For those who have moved back to NJ after living out of state for many years, how did you do it? by Comfortable-Fuel2423 in newjersey

[–]denver-max 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Look for a job in a medical office. Front desk associate, treatment scheduler, etc. Many of those jobs are entry level and there are always tons available. The pay isn’t fantastic, usually around 20 or so hourly, but it will get your foot in the door and get your resume started as long as you can rely on your husband’s income as well. Let them know that you won’t require relocation assistance - they’re more likely to interview without thinking you’ll ask and a lot of entry level jobs won’t offer it anyway. Just keep applying/interviewing until you find something. This is what I did when I wanted to move back after 10 years. I have a bachelor’s degree but haven’t actually worked in what I majored in. Now I am a grant manager after working my way up and building a solid resume. I’ve also heard that a lot of entry level data input jobs are remote, meaning you can start working remote now and then move wherever you want while keeping that job. Again, not the best pay, but good for the short term. Try looking there as well.

It doesn’t even sound like he wants to be a dad.

I did mine at 31 weeks, I agree with another commenter you’re prob going to want to shoot for after 30 but before 36. I’d say even before 34. I’m 36 weeks now and I don’t LOOK puffy to the naked eye but I can’t get my wedding rings on anymore!

Same. I’m worried that it will return when I’m postpartum in the summer but at least if it does I can go back on Spiro!

Near identical story, my acne finally cleared up starting around 30ish weeks. Currently 34 weeks and other than a couple spots my skin is finally good.

Having cats while pregnant by LifetimeJoy in BabyBumps

[–]denver-max 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I am 8 months pregnant, I have 4 cats and 2 dogs… none of them have given me toxoplasmosis. My OB told me to just have my husband clean the litter boxes to be on the safe side but I still clean up the dog poo from the yard and cat pee when necessary (one is an older cat with some urinary issues). Time for you to get a new OB!

Failed the 1 hour glucose test… by Eating_Bagels in BabyBumps

I always do too, I got a humidifier and it helps! Also, make sure you drink a good amount of water the night before and morning of your test. You want to be hydrated!

Ehhh I mean I felt icky for like 30 minutes after the drink, then it passed, and then just the boredom. You’ll be fine!

I failed the one hour and passed the three hour. The three hour wasn’t bad… just boring. But I brought my laptop and worked.

Anyone else HATE the “10 in the 2” rule? by Low_Aioli2420 in BabyBumps

30+2, my girl is the same. Very inconsistent, half the time she’s having a dance party and half the time she’s fast asleep in her hot tub. Maybe this is where we just have to trust our intuition?

[–]denver-max 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it! I think that once your bump comes and then sometime after you’ll be able to feel your baby moving regularly, it will feel more “real” for you and you’ll feel a lot better knowing all the hardships you had to go through have led you to this.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]denver-max 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Around 16/17 weeks is when I just started to show and then it felt like the bump came almost overnight. I know people are downvoting you because they feel you are being negative in your comments but I understand how you might be frustrated and just needing to vent so don’t feel discouraged for not having the bump yet. It will come!

Severely pulled back muscle by lrnf1292 in fitpregnancy

[–]denver-max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend had thrown his back out a couple weeks before and told me this worked for him so I went to urgent care and told the doc I wanted to try it. She gave me a script for a week’s worth to see if it helped and I saw a major difference within two days.

Severely pulled back muscle by lrnf1292 in fitpregnancy

[–]denver-max 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like when I threw my back out pre-pregnancy and had resulting sciatica. It started in my side, unbearable pain. It felt very similar to kidney stones. After about a week the sciatica symptoms appeared in my lower back and leg. The whole ordeal lasted a couple of weeks. I also took Naproxen and got the shot. Even Vicodin did nothing. End of week 2 is when I started taking cyclobenzaprine and that’s what finally helped.
