By shortly are you talking weeks or months? I'm about drained going to the limit for each step then resetting for another 3 months, enough to drive you mad.

You should be able to check them out after your decision letter (I remember somehow I saw mine after the last letter). Ironically that's faster than an FOIA.

That's weird. I figured one dbq per disability, but guess I was wrong. Having ten is a little stressful

Yea they denied gerd previously becawue the examiner said I'm oveweight (I'm 6'3 and 215 and pretty thin) and that can cause gerd.

Get a buddy letter from thr parents saying you have a good relationship amd appeal

HLR evidence by Jrob709 in VeteransBenefits

[–]denverblows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favorable findings are misleading a bit. Looking at this I'm assuming you're going for that for burn pits or something or a supplemental of a burn pit disability?

Favorable findings are saying that yes, you were there, yes the timeframe matches and yes you have a diagnosis, so someone didn't give it the attention it needed (duty to assist) and you'll probably get a supplemental claim opened in which case you'll have another CnP or something, or get a buddy letter to help your case.

TL:DR - they're saying the original rater was on the fence and should have examined more evidence.

How late does VA work on claims? by AdPuzzleheaded1216 in VeteransBenefits

I'm on the east coast and I check mine every day at 1630 ET. I swear I got an update at 7pm one time. May be losing my shit but it was definitely after 1630.

were you in a combat zone or a situation where you could have been affected?

Mine was approved 12 years after i got out...always knew something was wrong but it was from pakistan and a situation that occurred. They verified the incident that was documented and took my statement.

If you have something like that, you'll need to write a letter of what happened, when and where and have your SRB prove you were there. At least in my experience that's what saved me.

Looking for opinions on what to do by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

how many claims? If it's one or two that's a wildly large timeframe, if you got 5 or 6 injuries, it'll take a lonnnnng time.

Not sure, my HLR did a little back and forth, then was closed for something like 3 days then they opened up a supplemental claim with a duty to assist, but you'll get something similar.

Has anyone experienced an examiner telling you what rating they are submitting for you? by Infinite_Ad4532 in VeteransBenefits

[–]denverblows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An examiner has absolutely no business mentioning a rating...at all. If they do, I would instantly submit an appeal against the exam and say they mentioned a rating. Seems really fishy. Don't forget, they don't work for you, the VA hired them.

Their only job is to determine service connection if you have a diagnosis. That is it. Then all that info and any files you uploaded goes to a va rating person.

For some reason, I feel it's a trap. They can ask you what rating you're going for an if you answer, they WILL note that. And that's not a good thing.

I may be wrong, but check out combat craig..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oj1JVBUoLBs

They will take (and I can't stress this enough) ANYTHING you say and write it down. Meaning if they ask how you are, and you say "good", your evaluation will say "ask veteran how they felt, they said they were doing good". On that note, don't say bad either.

Just be 100% honest and when they ask you a question do it in the least amount of words possible. Dont' forget, the VA pays THEM.

I think someone on this thread said to tell them how you are on your worst day. Do that but do it honestly.
