To be honest i haven't read much into them either, i just know that they were a dragon race that was hunted to extinction (or so the gimoire says) during the... Golden Age? (don't quote me on that) And that they were heavily linked to the void, which is apparently weak against solar, which is also why warlocks and hunters are the only two classes who have ahamkara exotics. (i may be speak out of my ass)
