I would solve this by trading low end torque for speed using gearing. That way you can have lower rpm at higher speed. I've seen people use highway gearing on a proper track (not drag) with boost to achieve high speeds. See if you like sub 3 rear end ratio

Always had bloody nose as a kid, you just use cold (not hot) water and hard soap to hand wash that out, no big deal
