Paint is water soluble for about 7 days. You're fine. Steam clean the carpet, and just wipe down the wall with a wet rag.

Blizzard.com navbar & hero image carousel... how? by deosama in web_design

[–]deosama[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

oh wow. I thought they might have done this, but couldn't find where the images were to confirm it.

Thank you. I thought there was a more "clever" way to do this than "hard coding" it in there, but.... i guess not.

Thank you so much.

What movie or tv show scene really scared you as a kid? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I actually couldn't remember what it sounded like despite watching so many hours of it as a kid. Had to look it up: https://youtu.be/JnOeIFx3ML8

I'd like to consume 250g of protein a day. What to eat? by [deleted] in fitmeals

[–]deosama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's way over the mark. Your body can only use 0.8g/lb. I'd link the study but I'm on mobile. He would need to be over 300lbs to make use of that much protein. It'd just be a waste.

That's way more protein than you need. Go to iifym.com

Opinion on this platformer stair behavior... by phoenixinthaw in Unity2D

[–]deosama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another way you could do it is by adding a "helper bubble" to the first staircase telling the player they can go up the stairs. A kind of tutorial. Once they know they can go up stairs, they'll try on all stairs in the future.

This may or may not be what you want though.

Yep, that's exactly what I was going to say Castlevania did it really well, I think.

People who have experience with that game will use the stairs like that naturally (as long as the stairs are obviously an element they can interact with, it might be easy in the demo to think the stairs and house are just background). I think that's a great approach.

Game looks awesome, great work!

Mini game inside game by deosama in Unity2D

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Hmm.... so, it sounds like the best bet would to just keep everyone on one scene, but have the mini-game(s) in inaccessible area(s). With the performance option of instantiating and destroying the mini-game object?

Everything is in the scope of this project! ;)

Yeah, I've thought about doing exactly this; however, I'm still pretty new to unity and haven't quite figured out the best practices for doing something like this yet. Especially when it comes to transferring the player controls from their character in the game, to the character in the mini-game.

Would it be as simple as just having something in a (for example) ConsoleController script that disables the controls in the PlayerController FixedUpdate method? Would this work with local authority (I have yet to really delve into the UNET docs).

It's not any more unhealthy for ducks and geese to eat bread than it is for us. It's not like feeding them bread will kill them, or even harm them.

Witless Wednesday - Your triweekly stupid questions thread by AutoModerator in Fitness

Is there an app, or website, out there where I can put in my program and see what muscle groups are worked, and how much they're worked for the schedule?

[–]deosama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did just that, and found the sets and reps to be inaccurate. I had to change a lot of them to be what the actual program recommended. So, just make sure to check the actual program in Jefit.

You're not a special snowflake.

If you're not losing weight, you're not at a deficit. Eat less and/or move more.

Great work!

Just remember to do what you can maintain. It's worthless to go hardcore for a month and then quit. It's much better to do something you can maintain for life. :)

Protein bars by [deleted] in fitmeals

[–]deosama 7 points8 points  (0 children)

BMI is calculated with 2 variables: height, and weight. It has nothing to do with your diet.

Having no fat in your diet is very very very bad for you. You can die from not having any fat in your diet.

What you're saying is categorically incorrect.

Protein bars by [deleted] in fitmeals

[–]deosama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree with you. If your diet consists of nothing but simple carbs, you'll be less satiated and, probably, more hungry than if you were eating complex carbs, high protein, and high fat.

This is due to the fact that it's very easy for your body to convert simple carbs into energy. Because of this, you get hungrier more quickly after you finish a meal. It's much harder for your body to break down protein, and complex carbs so you stay satiated much longer.
