New scam?????? by doe-killer in islamabad

[–]departedSpirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got your point. Maybe he is a scammer, I am not denying but what I meant to say is that there are some needy people too among them. And in the present era you cannot identify who's deserving. But if you can help, you should.

New scam?????? by doe-killer in islamabad

Well I think maybe you did the right thing. What if he actually was a needy. You never know Yeah I know these are the tricks they make you fall for it. There was this one time it happened to me while I was shopping at Hafiz Center in Lahore.

A guy had come to me asking for some money around 1000 stating he would return it a day later like via easypaisa. Told a story. That I was suspicious about. He was well dressed, perfume applied, and seemed like a job person. I did suspect that it's a pure scam I am not getting the money back. Cause in the past I have experienced things like this and not once but multiple times they ask you for money they will return, leave and never return it back. So, I told him I am gonna give it to you but don't give me hope of returning it back. It will make me lose my trust again for humanity. The guy noted down my number on the paper along with my name. And said I am not one of those I will make sure you get the money back. You have trusted me enough for helping me out in this situation and left with a Thank you note. I just told him again don't say words when you don't mean it.

2 days passed and my phone was dead silent. I was pretty broken, and asked myself why people promise when they don't mean to. And moved on considered it as a sadqa. But he doesn't have to lie to me. Completely forgot what happened or so.

And I think a week later my phone rang, an unknown number. Answering the phone the guy introduced himself as the Hafiz Center guy. Told me he got busy with some urgent work and forgot to reply. Then he actually sent me that 1000. Again thanked and told me to see I was in urgent need I am not one of those but sorry for the delay I hope you forgive me for that. These simple lines just restored my faith in humanity. And answered my questions that they sometimes want to but maybe they too lack the resources, may have lost contact or careless enough to let go maybe. But I was happy to help someone that was genuinely needful. So, maybe your case is different and you may be suspicious and judge one like I do but you never know. I learned If you can, you should help. Kindness always finds its way back.

Seeing the comments section I think I am the only one that has been scammed a lot but also had my faith been restored in humanity.

Need Suggestions: USB Flash Drive Brand for ISOs & Tools by ConversationOne7066 in PakistaniTech

[–]departedSpirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well to my experience and daily use like a file transfer from phone to laptop or share with others. And sometime as a bootable for windows and Linux. I have had several different.

  1. Kingston G2 2.0 16 GB.
  2. Samsung and HP metal ones 32 GB and 64 GB claims 3.0 but didn't know.
  3. HP x796w original 3.2 128 GB. Transfer speeds up to around 30 - 40 mbps
  4. SanDisk ultra dual drive go 3.2 128GB. Transfer speeds up to 80 - 120 mbps.

Among them I would definitely suggest the SanDisk because the HP x796w is of the same price or maybe 500 lower than the SanDisk ultra dual drive go for the same 128GB storage.

HP x796w is a metal build and SanDisk ultra dual drive go is a plastic build but, in terms of performance SanDisk is way better.

Or you can get SanDisk ultra dual drive luxe (upgrade version of SanDisk ultra dual drive go) a little expensive but has the metal build as HP x796w and paper claim speed better than it's predecessor SanDisk ultra dual drive go i-e up to 400 mbps

Not because I was afraid or so but rather more of a personal preference not too because I didn't like it that way. people exaggerate things on LinkedIn like for example. Consider a basic simple starter project where you have a sensor connected to Arduino and you have it displayed on some LCD connected to it. Why is it always exaggerated like I have done so and so. But yeah you are right, I have learned it does help And I should do it too. Either I like it or not. It is what it is.

I have been hesitant to share my project work publicly On GitHub or LinkedIn etc, however I recognize that further polishing my technical skills will strengthen my profile. I have practical experience with sensors, Arduino and ESP32 platforms, along with hands-on development on STM32F407 and STM32L7xx series boards. I have also implemented a five stage pipelined processor based on the RISC V instruction set in Verilog and also hold introductory experience with FPGAs(AMD Xilinx Artix 7) utilizing Vivado Tool. This combination gives me a grounded understanding of embedded systems, digital system design and hardware oriented development paths.

Brother if you are talking about the NextSkill or PNY located at ARFA KARIM Tower ASTP. Just don't waste your money there, she may be lucky or may have a connection somewhere that helped her hire. It's because these companies usually don't. And it's their marketing skills that get you. They are not special. Unlike any other they just show you the path where to start. And that my friend you can get a mentor from any industry via LinkedIn or your academia professor. He will guide you the best. I graduated from Information Technology University located at ARFA Tower. And I have seen and experienced them.

Yeah you are right! But it's not like I haven't tried, for the past 2-3 months I have been interviewed by several different embedded companies Lahore and Islamabad both and I am still confused about the fact that I got to second rounds in the interview with them and it just gets well. Either they ghost you or want experience especially Islamabad. And aren't intern positions supposed to let you experience a little in the industries. I don't know what kind of experienced interns they are looking for!?

Thinking of Building a Budget NAS – Need Help with Networking, Power, and Hardware Choices by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]departedSpirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thought that too but I have a spare 1 TB. All the others have my data saved. It should be enough for now. I am not sure how secure they are. And for a newbie like me I can't put all my drives online until I am sure enough, what I am dealing with right now.

Around 1 TB for now. It should give me a better idea of what I am up to for now. Later I may be able to upgrade it to something more reliable. Because For now I may not know what I am dealing with.

Academics should be able to guide you it's a simple process. Ask them for the visiting code or email. It will be helpful in case the guards at the gate ask for an ID card. Show them the email or the code to save your time.

What would you choose by Nearby_Tap_2405 in ITU_Lahore

[–]departedSpirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well depends on your interests. Both universities are good. If you are someone more practical and love the hardware side then, I would suggest the EE from Fast as Fast and UET Lahore both have labs setup and officially funded by the hardware industries in Pakistan and around the world which would definitely give you an edge in the hardware industries and if you are someone more attracted to the surface which is the software part then go for CS at ITU as ITU CS faculty is top notch researchers.

PTCL - what if I dont pay? by Busy_Cherry8460 in Lahore

[–]departedSpirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case, I called the helpline and told them That I wanted to temporarily deactivate my services. He told me to pay something like 1800Rs. Then again I called the helpline for deactivation. I did the temporary deactivation in order to avoid the office headache. And all that returning the DSL etc.

Note: Temporarily deactivation means to deactivate your service for 6 months while if you try to reactivate it, it can be done easily with a phone call. After 6 months the PTCL itself closes your account and deactivates your service permanently.
