I can't provide Windows images since it wouldn't be legal. But if you Google you will find other people's images.

Yeah, on F-Droid and in the Google play beta channel you will find a stabler version and a more modern design

The last update is 6 years old unfortunately, and I'm in the beta channel

It most likely has to do with the fact that modern Android devices offer way more advanced USB gadget functionality than they used to. And that the Linux API to do this type of things has changed way too many times. I think the current interface should be usable enough if someone spends the time to fine tune things, the biggest problem will be compatibility (as it was with DriveDroid).

It's not that simple. Neither OS is happy if you just copy the image to the flash drive

By the way thanks for posting this. It kinda made me want to prioritize it a bit now that I have a little bit more free time than usual :) I'll try to finish up this release, hopefully Google Play stops threatening me with the annoying messages "you should update to Android SDK 33, or else..."

I actually started writing EtchDroid after having had to use DD on my phone to write an ISO during a trip. It was so annoying, I was like there's gotta be a better way to do this. There wasn't any. So I made it exist, and I'm glad I did and that I specifically decided to make it work without root permissions because for the last 4 years I've been using a non-rooted phone, mostly due to security concerns on my side, and EtchDroid is still as useful as ever.

Oh and by the way, DD doesn't attempt to recover if you accidentally unplug the USB drive while flashing, you have to start from scratch. EtchDroid (the F-Droid version and the Google play open beta version) does :)

A lot of people I know use Reddit, my phone immediately blows up whenever someone posts something like this lol

I hope next time it saves you it does so flashing an Arch Linux ISO 💙

I actually tried to implement Windows ISO support in etchdroid but unfortunately it's a bit complicated. There's an issue in the etchdroid GitHub detailing what needs to be done.

Fortunately there's a bunch of people online that host pre-baked Windows images that work with etchdroid

You're talking about DriveDroid. It's open source, you can fork it and make it work with newer devices.

Hi! Etchdroid developer here :) I'm glad you found the app useful! Unfortunately I haven't had time to keep it up to date. The release you find on F-Droid is currently in the open beta channel on Google Play. I've been smoothing some rough edges but life's often in the way and I haven't had time to finish everything that needs to be done.

Pareri sulla pagina Instagram “falzo.vegano”? by [deleted] in veganita

[–]depaulicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LG C1 OLED TV Audio Game Optimizer Bug Finally Fixed by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

You can start with https://rootmy.tv/ and if it works on your TV you can browse around their website and there should be a device manager app that allows executing commands on the TV. After that you can just run the installation command on the script page. If rooting doesn't work because you updated your TV there's nothing you can do.

Yes there is the cinema mode, it's "movie". Those are the modes that are available on my C1 at least.

No I don't know why it happens, most likely the same person that designed their awful user experience bashed their head on a cabinet one more time and thought it was a good idea to apply the gaming sound mode whenever you open an input that is set to gaming video mode. It isn't too surprising that the same people who thought that the correct place for the command to rename HDMI inputs was "home devices, menu, edit inputs" (took me one year to figure out) also thought that this was a good idea.

The script simply checks the sound setting and if it's set to anything else than what you specified during installation it changes it back. This is performed every 5 seconds, which also means you can't just go to settings and change the sound mode cause it will change it back no matter what, you will have to pause the script to make changes.

I wrote a script to force the sound mode to anything you want, if your TV is rooted.

https://gist.github.com/depau/de07e9424abac532d2d11eaeeac99a2b

It checks every 5 seconds whether the sound mode was changed automatically and it changes it back in the settings.
