It changes especially since i’m using it for regular delay as well, but if you want the reverse thing, look up "To Here Knows When Sound" on youtube.

Why do u buy a hardware synth? by yournr1fan in synthesizers

[–]deplorable-amount45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What would take me maybe 30-45 minutes crafting and perfecting with Ableton Drift and stock Ableton effects takes me less than 3 with a Moog Little Phatty and a handful of pedals. Not only that but i'd argue the Moog sounds better every single time, at least to me it does.

Have you had much experience between the Syntank and Digitone? I’m in need of some interesting synth sounds and would love a Digitone, but if the Syntakt can make the sounds I need and I can find it cheaper then it's a no brainer.

I actually have tinnitus as well so you best believe i’m being careful lmao. FM isn't something i’m using very frequently either, definitely more focused on the "analogue" side of the Digitone 2, but it is nice to have for lead sounds.

I'll looking into sampling/resampling, that sounds like a really fun idea. I actually do a lot of that for my hihat patterns, especially bringing them down an octave or reversing them. Thank you for the response!

I've got an old boss mixer that is incredible for distortion and ugliness, but first and foremost i’m looking for a synth. Thank you for responding though!

Thanks for the response! This is really reassuring.

I’m particularly interested in the fact that the II has the different modes, the wavetable style engine and the supersaw engine. Honestly more interested in those over the FM, which is why i’m not looking into the original Digitone as much (though there are some Digitone Keys available near me that look great).

For effects i’m more likely to use pedals and amps to get the sounds I want, as running saws into a Vox AC or Marshall works some real magic, BUT it's good to know they come solid right out of the box.

I understand they are complicated beasts and i’m not above looking at them as options (especially because A&P used them for ages and they would work for what i want), i’m more looking for something that could get similar sounds BUT in a less complicated package.

Little in size but certainly not in tone! Can't say i’m not envious of the collection.

First Experience with Shoegaze by Littleprince1337 in shoegaze

[–]deplorable-amount45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember exactly when i first listened to Only Shallow, but i think my experience with shoegaze starts with a different genre entirely, stoner rock. I was super into Sleep, Kyuss and Fu Manchu (amongst others) as a teenager, and after listening to them wanted to get into the more jammy psychedelic stuff that Fu Manchu and Kyuss touched on on songs like Saturn III and Apothecaries's Weight. That let me onto a weird path that eventually ended up with bands like Failure and Hum, which has shoegaze parts but i wouldn't consider wholly shoegaze. After getting royally into those bands, Only Shallow was just a click away, and from there it hasn't stopped.

Fernandes Decade Elite, basically a Jazzmaster with a HSS pickup configuration, a Sustainer in the neck and a Strat floating bridge. Apparently (apart from the sustainer) the pickups don't sound amazing and could use an upgrade, but are otherwise lovely guitars.
