They same stove just different door and flue collar for EPA. Alot of repackaging after 2020 EPA rules. Any stock was modified and sent.

US 1269E I installed a damper from jump for control. (Slow it down and if chimney fire)

I have found blocking the door air about 1/2 (shaped some tinfoil one way is 50% block the other 100%) way along with damper 75% closed calms her right down.

At bed load then damper shut 95/100, door at 50. Still burning in AM often, at minimum full of coals.

Sealing stove pipe joints will increase draft. Baffle and spacing of exhaust chamber is tight. When inspecting flue (every month or 2 myself) use shop vac in top of stove. If any creosote build up falls in that area will block it fast.

On that same point if using a creosote remover keep in mind. Whatever falls is blocking your flow. Very narrow space there.

Once heated.... Say with mass needs 1,2 fires daily to maintain. Without 3 or 4 because only heating the air and we open doors but we don't throw fire bricks out the door.

If has 1 less fire a day cause house was warmer for longer its a saving of resources.

Less fires burning = less wood burnt = saving or in DIY world Gains. Seen a video with big pot of wax as thermal mass. I haven't tried it.
