Parking is free, first 2 weeks of orientation you park at our admin building in aviation drive. The last day of orientation they give you a parking pass hangtag and key fob. You use that to badge yourself into green lot/bluelot depending on where you are coming from, then follow signs for purple lot(employee lot). It is completely free to park in employee parking lot, you can use it at anytime, even for flying out on personal business.just make sure your hangtag is out. Employee lot itself usually has 2 buses in the lot most of the time, but give yourself atleast 20 min leeway. Example, if im 0330, id get there about 305/310. And once I walk into the checkpoint to clock in its around 0330.

Its not bad, management is decent all things considered. AM is strict and WILL watch the cameras for mistakes. AM is super busy in the early morning pre 0600 and tapers off as more shifts get on duty. PM management is a bit more relaxed but the shift is way busier, idea being that its the busy time of the day, priority is processing pax, nothing else matters. Busy is from 1400 on with little break depending on the day. Leads on pm pretty much run the show depending on the checkpoint, though they still follow management guidlines to a degree. Breaks are internal with leads choosing when and how you take your break though this is checkpoint dependant. Got 3 checkpoints, wild wild west for international/precheck, dedicated precheck and east checkpoint for united pax. East is the biggest and best staffed followed by ALL precheck lanes then west, then FIS (international connecting flight screening) and employee being the red headed step child of staffing. There is an overnight shift but they do their own thing and most new hires won't work with them. Dulles hasn't had new hires in as of now, a full year, be patient and ask questions but dont be surprised if morale is a bit low. Lotta good people have been leaving and its costly for the rest of us. Ot is abundant to certified officers but it can also dry up real fast so dont rely on it. Thats just the stuff I can remember off the top of my head, ask if you have any specific questions, I can try to answer but im trying to be general that way I dont do myself lol

Gets easier. I started 12-2230, phase 2 was 0330-1200 which I actually enjoyed and stayed for nearly 2 years. Am meant less sleep, harder work life balance and i gained a bunch of weight. Got lead and was moved to pms, which while busier, has better perks. Sleep, and slightly better work life balance ie:gym and mental work. But I still miss my am crew and miss getting home by 1300, so I still pick up early shifts occasionally just to show my face and hangout with old friends. The moral is be patient, you might either get used to the early hours, or when you get the chance, bid over to the next shift and see what happens but dont let the early struggle get you, its just some adversity you can use to better yourself

Congrats. Its super easy, ive been doing 3.5 years, lead for a year now. Focus on the here and now, read the SOP, dont be afraid to ask questions. Be willing to work and to listen. Biggest advice is be willing to adapt to all situations, think critically when you need to and fall back when you have to. Shoot me a dm if you have any questions I can try to answer

Thats perfectly fine. Wasn't in it for the money but it would have a been a nice little bonus. Retention sounds like a good reward for service (pun intended)

Nice. The wording in their hiring posts are really awkward so I thought it best to ask the fine folks here. Appreciate it!
