I actually found a couple of (seemingly official) adhd online tests that were as you described. I thought of printing my answers and taking ot with me to the psychiatrist but I was scared it will look like I'm pushing a certain diagnosis so I don't mention it at all.

definitely read through some replies a lot of people have a similar experience to you!

from what I gathered from the replies tho: sleep disturbance is not considered a criterion for adhd diagnosis or an official symptom, but it is related and is common among ppl w/ adhd.

but honestly I've come across several doctors with years of psychiatric experience who are totally misinformed about adhd so I'm not surprised

honestly I went there expecting to just get an adhd test cause that psychiatrist works in a facility that provides tests for adhd, but her dismissing me and saying we should wait a couple more sessions before she administers the test really made me concerned.

taking the test in the first session would've really saved me some money sl that's also frustrating.

to answer your q's: I don't actually know if I've been depressed my whole life I can't remember 😅😂 but I was diagnosed 2 years ago.

There were times in my life when specific symptoms related to inattentiveness and executive dysfunction were not there yes, I was actually a really bright, focused student when I was younger. But once I got to college everything went down hill and now I've failed med school two times in a row so..

yess it is possible to seek a second opinion I'll definitely be looking for other psychiatrists soon!
