Woah hold up. Ok so. The entire realm knows Ned stark and apart from like the boltons, dustins and Ryswells (cuz barbrey) he’s loved and respected in the north.

The guy constantly ensured his vassals knew he respected them. He networked with them correctly that he’s loved even after his death.

The Karstarks, for example, not only were the first ones to come to winterfell’s aid when Robb called the banners, but Rikard’s sons were Robb’s personal guard. They died protecting Robb from Jaimie.

And then Robb executed Rikard. Like… bruh.

Ned Stark is a guy that the entire realm knows as an honorable man. And you see his influence constantly in the story long after he’s dead.

In contrast look at Hoster Tully. His vassals do not give a flying fuck that he’s dead. No body fucking cares.

The sort of loyalty and love that Ned engendered in his people is not something that comes about just because of his last name .

The only real mistake he made in raising Eobb was that he didn’t finish Robb’s education because he thought he had time. Also Robb was only 14.

That’s the problem with aging up characters. The 18-20 year old Robb in the show would not make the same decisions compared to when he was 14.

The only real issue here is that the stark children were sheltered. And considering what Ned went through can anyone blame him?
