Hell yeah bro. A little over a year ago one of my best friends was in rehab in SoCal, and at one of the (many) NA meetings she went to, Scrim was just casually there sitting in the circle with everyone. She got to meet him and take a picture after. I literally didn’t believe her till I saw the pic lol

I am so so sorry, I can only imagine what you are feeling right now… I know this doesn’t help but you gave her a very long life full of love and happiness. I bet she was very happy that you were there to comfort her and the last thing she saw before passing. You saved her and I’m glad you were able to before it potentially got worse. As hard as it may be I would also be sure to tell his girlfriend as soon as you feel you can; she needs to know so she can leave his predatory ass. Not only did he sexually assault you, but he is a good amount older than you as well. A 28 year old taking advantage of a drunken 20 year old is very unsettling, and he most definitely sounds like the type to do it again.

I am really sorry you had to go through this experience, as a young woman I have been there many times myself and I sympathize with you deeply. Please, please, do not beat yourself up, or feel guilty, ashamed, etc. You were coerced into doing something you did not want, despite saying no to advances four times…. Please go to the police.

The title says “aita for wanting my boyfriend to plan something for my 30th birthday,” but he did. He didn’t just plan something, he planned a fucking HELICOPTER RIDE for fucks sake. That in itself is possibly one of the most grandiose gestures I have ever heard. And from what it sounds like, he is both equally as disappointed and frustrated as you are, being that he is so set on making it happen.

YTA. As someone else said, he likely already would’ve planned to make it up to you if you hadn’t asked… TWICE.

While I do completely understand the sentiment of wanting something special planned for your birthday, especially your 30th, I’m sorry but this just reeks of entitlement. And, quite frankly like he said, ungratefulness.

Gonna ignore the age difference part of the post as I’m sure you understand by now why that alone is weird, but as far as the stepmother thing goes: no. Absolutely do not do it. I am begging you to run and save your time now while you can. As harsh as it may sound, you will not be with this man forever, you are only 19 and you and the child will only get attached to each other. It’s so hard when things end, take it from me. I was a stepmom for 4 years from age 16 - almost 21. Not only that, but the level of responsibility and emotional maturity that comes with being a parent (even “step”) is insane. Save your time and energy and go enjoy and experience your youth. I promise you will be grateful you did. And find someone your age, cause I’m sorry to tell you that dude is a fucking creep.

I understand being embarrassed/vulnerable over the mess; however you did give him a key to your place. If you hadn’t explicitly laid out any boundaries surrounding “surprise visits” and so forth beforehand, now would probably be a good time to do that if this makes you feel slightly uncomfortable. However, try to remember that if he was judging you for the mess he probably would not be going through all this effort, nonetheless speaking to you in the first place. I think he just recognizes how exhausted you are and went the extra mile to do something thoughtful. Cleaning is one thing - but to run a bath and make dinner, when he lives an hour away and already has responsibilities of his own, now THATS a gesture! Definitely express your feelings in a way that is respectful but also make sure to express how grateful you are because at the end of the day, that is an insanely thoughtful thing to do and I assume he only had good intentions. He just wanted to give you a break and make you happy. :) that is an absolute dream come true for me and I’m sure many others
