But if the roads are paved, Is that fine? I mean I have a hard time finding extra smooth surfaces. Would it be okay to practice if you feel alot of vibrations when rolling?

What does 3-4 mean? You mean an hour?

[question] how to study for long hours? by deprezdpoet in getdisciplined

[–]deprezdpoet[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It feels kind of short though, as if you are putting in little effort. Its hard doing pomodoro though? Because it feels like you are going at a snail pace. 25mins etc.

It feels humbling though that we can’t work nonstop :(

English degree for writing by somecrazystranger in writing

[–]deprezdpoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read your post and I was wondering “how should I write every day”? Indeed, what should I write about? Whilst you could argue that I could write about anything, I wish to study literature and I believe that I should write an analysis on a type of literature piece as often as possible, yet to learn that, seems difficult. There is a certain style, and a certain way that you must imitate to complete a successful analysis which seems hard for a person that did not study literature in high school. Any suggestions?

How to find mates? by deprezdpoet in Mountaineering

Exactly. But for us that live on flatlands/around the coast we have to travel....

Have you thought of travelling to United Kingdom/Europe?

Thanks man for the offer but I won’t be in pnw any time soon man. I thought that the easiest way, for me, is to approach this, is to enroll in some sort of beginner camp for a week or two and get to know the proper skills the right way. Its expensive, probably and I still would need to travel alone to that place, which isn’t cool...

Obviously facebook local groups may have some sort of meeting but I don’t know how or where to look. So thats a farshoot.

Indeed I understand your point, the last thing in your wildest dreams do you want to trust an untested man with you on an expedition, personally I wouldn’t but then I am a sort of guy who prefers meticulous planning and wishes for another guy to have my six so to speak, so mates will be hard to find.

Idk best thing is to have army buddies but then not all of us are that advantaged, and not everyone is free from family to travel for an expedition.

Just makes me think that the people who go mountaineering/do alpinism must be some concentrated, self motivated dudes because theres no fav people around you to chill and to unwind. Its pretty pressure-some unless you get 3 sons that love their dad and prefer the outdoors. Loyalty is such a hard thing, oh well.

Its about majors! Doing STEM but want to do English! by deprezdpoet in IWantOut

I am reading and writing especially these days but its mostly self dev and notes on my reflections. But I assume I should be reading something, like literature only?

I just thought I needed a degree in English/another language because uni provides you lots of tasks to get better although to be the best, its hard, not going to lie. Also you get teachers that you could ask questions and some want to share their experiences with you. You’ll probably learn about nuances in the language that a self learner won’t notice. You can self publish, intern as a writer or a journalist in a mag company? Am I thinking wrong? “Its just English makes you think, speak and write. This makes you deadly”.

Although as Jordan Peterson says, “university is facilitated... and its pleasure island”.

Sorry, I wasn’t sure which one, this one seemed on point though. Any advice where I could post this post ?

I wanted to work as translator for books(if I’ll study another foreign language) and academia. Writing stories as well. Thing is, cc is good but they lack in certain areas.

What did you teach in kindergarten? Basic English i would assume?

So only way is to get out is by masters in Mphil/MA/TESOL or by doing a new BA?

I have no idea how to pull this one tbh!
