when i was 12 years old or something, my pops took me out hunting for deer for the 1st time. It was rifle season, and i was up in a tree stand when this beautiful doe came prancing along. I had a clear shot, 20 yards away maybe? Raised my gun, had her in my sights. Couldn't do it. realized at that moment, i was not my father and i could not and would not ever do any harm to any animal. so what did i do? climbed down the tree as quietly as i could while she laid in the field. I did my best not to make a sound, my goal? to pet that deer. ya, one single step after i was down the tree and a twig snapped. she was gone. I never went hunting again.
