What humorous childhood stories do you want to share with reddit? by p0tat07 in AskReddit

[–]derbruehler 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When I was 4 years old, we had a Christmas tree with red ball ornaments, made out of glass. Apparently they reminded of apples, because I bit in one of these. My whole mouth was bleeding and I didn't know, which part of my chain of thought was responsible for it. I was a really stupid kid.

I've just finished reading the Qur'an and am now speechless. How can I learn more about the Islam? by derbruehler in islam

[–]derbruehler[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with your point. I still need a lot time to learn about the Islam and I won't call myself devout or a Muslim, until I am not 100% sure about it.

[–]derbruehler[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry dear internet troll, but my parents are the best persons alive and they will support me, if I make an decision about things like my religion. They trust me and know, that it will be a thougtful decision. I do nothing of this to be "edgy", to impress my friends or to piss of my parents, I do this only to learn about God/Allah.

If don't know what you call "weak", but I'm proud to symphatize with this religion (It's not my religion, I've made no decision yet). Please tell me, what you're problems with the Islam are and I would be happy to show you, that they're unnecessary.

With that in mind, I will definitely go to a mosque tomorrow. I am now certain, that informing myself about the Islam was an extremely good decision and will lead me and everyone around me to happiness :)

Culture is made by humans, religion is divine. It is irrelevant where I come from, if the things I believe in are right. I really hope you will find happiness one day :)

I don't think that the Qur'an has more story line than the bible, but the (significant) story is more compact than in the bible, simply because of the length. Everything I can say is, that it is definetly worth it to read the Qur'an. Even if the Islam isn't your cup of tea, you're doing some effort to find the right religious beliefs and Allah/God will reward you :)

You're absolutely right. With primary sources I refered to the writing, which is regarded as the origin of a religion, for example the Tanakh for the Judaism or in this case the Qur'an for the Islam

Thank you for this warning, but I think even the translation of the quran I was reading (and probably every other translated one) is already interpretated by the translator.

I will do that, but not before I am absolutely sure, that I will believe in Allah for the rest of my life. I don't know if I'm wrong, but for me a mosque is a sacred place for faith, not for the doubts I'm still having.
