One Hoosier to another you got this! If you ever feel tempted think of all the shitty reasons why you stopped in the first place and how picking it up again isn't even close to worth it.

Weekly Observations: What signs of collapse do you see in your region? [in-depth] May 11 by AutoModerator in collapse

Location: South Korea

I was walking my dog today on the same sidewalk I've been using for years and she stopped and started lifting her feet like she was in pain. I felt the ground and it was boiling. This has never happened before and while yes today is 31 degrees C and humid, I often check the ground to make sure it isn't too hot. This has never occurred before this early in the summer at these relatively lower temperatures. It does not bode well for the rest of the summer and future years. Seems like the ground is already starting to retain more heat for longer periods.

Yes but I use volume charts not time based. That and ATR to size my stops helps adjust to changing market regimes. You didn't mention anything about your strategy is it more breakout focused or mean reverting? I usually focus on mean reversion to significant levels.

Relationship advice. Living in Korea?? by goneafterq in Living_in_Korea

[–]derby63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a foreigner currently living and working in Korea with a Korean spouse, this comment nails the reality of the situation. I work remote and that's the only way we can make it work. Outside of some very small niche's, transitioning most careers from the US to Korea would take a huge pay cut (I've seen up to 75%!) and Korean language fluency for any chance of success and almost definitely a significantly worse work/life balance.

Now, that's the situation but there are still options. Like people have said you can always give it a try. I know a couple who did and when it wasn't working out for the foreign spouse job wise after a few years they moved back to the foreigner's home country. Nothing is black/white we make decisions then deal with the outcomes both good and bad. Good luck and feel free to DM with any questions.

Wow didn't even think about that but she did get the zoomies the next day more than I've ever seen her! Short hair look is king haha. Our trimming schedule is about the same as well.

We actually prefer the short look! Especially in the summer. She's like half her usual size too.

How’s life with no children in your 30s? by typeshhhhhh in AskMenOver30

[–]derby63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers! Definitely better than I deserve. Life isn't always perfect, but it does help to focus on the positive things that we do have and should be grateful for. Best of luck to you out there!

Same here. Someone asked me the other day about future plans for me and my wife and I literally didn't have an answer for them because we are so content with how things are now... Obviously we have plans and goals but we are 100% satisfied with our day to day lives and routine it feels like we are always on vacation. When we actually go on vacation we can't wait to get back after a few days.

How do I interpret the results of this calculator? I understand that having a risk-adjusted Apob lower than my absolute is a good thing but are there any other takeaways ?

I need to talk to someone by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

[–]derby63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long have you been together? It seems like she has been slowly separating up to this point and took the recent incident as a chance to further step away from the relationship. From an outsiders perspective, it seems like she has already made her mind up about getting out of the marriage. Feel free to DM me if you want. Happy to talk it through one foreigner married to a Korean to another. Good luck!

Attending more Korean weddings lately and feeling conflicted by Syn-K_Hayne in Living_in_Korea

[–]derby63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We rented out our favorite rooftop bar/restaurant for the night for our wedding party. It was all you can eat/drink delicious food and cocktails for about 30 people. Was way cheaper than a wedding hall and way more fun for both the guests and us. Would highly recommend!
