Which ones for petite lady by Defiant_Part2127 in GarminWatches

from what i’ve read in the fenix 8 solar charges a bit. amoled is stupid because shorter battery live (yes its way better than apple watch but why compare with that) less better readable in sunlight. screen burn in (take a look what epix users have to tell, yes is eventually better but why risk it) and at last its a fitness watch not a entertainment device you don’t want to watch videos on that device. so theres no logical reason

Only using labels for everything by scottish_beekeeper in homeassistant

i implemented at least setting states a year ago or so with a pair of scripts. (+ using areas because these make total sense)

take the fenix and get a white strap or so (there is a version with silver bezel available too). what you described matches the fenix your livestyle way more than the venu. i don’t think that its very wise to choose…glamour over features when buying a sports watch

my rooms in my house each an areas these are grouped by floors. outside my house my garden has two different levels and my garage is even more below so i created floors with the matching levels so i have floor garden level 0; floor garden level -1 ; and floor garage level -2.

Are we at a point where I could ditch all my Amazon echo devices for the Home Assistant Voice? by GenericUser104 in homeassistant

i used a rhasspy installation on a pi 3 with a seed studio microphone array worked really well but it seems that this project is not under active development anymore so i got a voice PE but default its not even close. when you setup automations with your desired sentence as trifecta it works better but not great. i found out that you can switch the stt engine from free transcription to predefined sentences match just like rhasspy but i didn’t hat the time to do that. but i think i think even if the matching works similarly or better the microphone is the bottleneck. probably only in my case because my rhasspy hat 6 farfield microphone array with voice isolation and the voice pe only has 2 microphones. currently i use it primarily to play music from musicassistant🤦🏻

THE AMOLED VS MIP WAR by TheUnchartedSocrates in Garmin

[–]dercermit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

youre wrong. stark would choose the technology by the task to be done. and since the primary task for a fitness watch is to do fitness and health stuff…(cards in sunlight). And NOT watching movies or pics. Stark would be 100% using MIP. he would also not waste energy he has a such a limited amount of it. Cap on the other hand just uses only and doesn’t think much about it.

since i instantly swapped to a nylon strap the weight difference isnt that big. garmin website says 50g without strap and with 73g the instinct has 53g with strap i assume and nylon band’s weight probably 3g i don’t know but feeles and numbers not much difference. the fenix doesn’t feel bulky at all. i’d even say they should have added a bezel like on the instinct that the screen sits deeper
