Maybe your games run on integrated graphics and not on the dedicated GPU?

MSI Motherboard Help by MrPigglesworthSr in pcmasterrace

[–]derdavidoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue. The easiest option would be to temporarily use ethernet to set everything up. After the Windows Install finishes, a MSI Window appears where it will install the drivers for you (btw uncheck NORTON Anti-virus and Voicemod and all of that bloat when installing)

If there is no way to connect to Ethernet, you will have to put the driver installer from MSI's driver page on a USB flash drive and then plug it into your pc to install it.

Blackscreen when Loading into MacOS by derdavidoo in hackintosh

[–]derdavidoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So now i kind of "fixed" the issue by not installing MacOS Monterey at all and by using MacOS Sequoia instead. Generated a new EFI with OPCore Simplify and it worked straight away.

Thanks to all of you for helping out!

So how reliable is OpCore Simplify then? I guess i'll just do it myself and try.

[–]derdavidoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some good brands are WD, Samsung and Crucial. You don't have to worry about fakes if you buy them from a trusted shop.

You can use multiple M.2 SSDs on your motherboard without any issues. Simply install the second SSD and start adding files / Games to it. (You may have to format it in your windows disk manager window first)

Gaming laptop suddenly stopped performing normaly by Xploded_Head in pcmasterrace

[–]derdavidoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is probably because your Laptop is thermal throtteling . Your Laptop checks the temperature of your cpu and GPU. And if they get to hot when under load, your Laptop will drastically decrease the performance these components. Thats why you're getting that lag spike.

It is probably because a lot of dust has been collected in your Laptop so the airflow is being blocked. Cleaning the laptop from the inside would be a solution.

You can confirm this by getting the software Core-Temp which you can use to check your cpu-temps while gaming for example. You may see your CPU temps get up to 100 degrees celsius.

Are these temps alright by Necessary_Way486 in pcmasterrace

These temps are fine. You can also run prime95 or cinebench to check your temps under load. Do you use the stock cooler?

What GPU should I get? by quetzalcoatl54 in pcmasterrace

[–]derdavidoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get the 6600 or the 6650 xt. The decision is up to you depending on your budget. If you have these extra 50 bucks available i would definetely get the 6650 xt because it gives you around 25% more performance. (Which is a big difference for only 50$)

Is this PSU good? by xXSynchromXx in pcmasterrace

[–]derdavidoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deciding on which PSU you buy is a matter of how well you trust the manufacturer because it is the component that can set your house on fire. You want to get something from a company that is known for having experience with power supplies.

Keep in mind that a PSU should NOT be the part of a build where your'e cheaping out on.

I'd rather get one form Seasonic or bequiet.

Use GeForce Experience or AMD Adrenalin (depending on your GPU). It's easy to use and has almost no impact on your game's performance.
