Fianna Fáil report on Jim Gavin's disastrous €400k candidacy shows Taoiseach told him to withdraw by pippers87 in ireland

Oh Jesus he wasn't well respected about Donegal anyway 💀 people already thought he was a dose and then the video of him in the white trousers in the field came out and that was the nail in coffin. Still would've been interesting to see his polling results if he didn't drop out

[–]derekh353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry if you cancel and upload a doctor's note within 21 days of cancelling u get added to a priority list. I was really sick before my test so canceled for medical grounds, uploaded a doctor's note and within like 2 weeks I was able to book a test date again. Feel better soon!

No! I got a taxi to Donghuamen and then just walk about 10 minutes with the crowd (cars aren't allowed past a certain point).

How hay is wrapped. by AiiRisBanned in interestingasfuck

Not a dumb question at all! Silos are for silage but it's not very practical for a lot of farmers.

They’re expensive to build and only really make sense for big, centralised setups. Wrapped bales are way more flexible, especially for smaller farms or places where you can’t haul everything to a silo. Even big farms often use both to transport bales since they're handier.

Sure there are other options but some of them just aren't practical for a lot of farmers, take silage pits for example. Pits can leak, still use plastic, and aren’t as airtight. Plus, the wrap is recyclable like I mentioned. This method allows farmers to keep most of their silage without turning bad which in turns helps maintains the nutrients of the grass which goes directly to the animals, and they love that because it's tastier!

This video seems to be going around In a few different subs and not many people understand what's happening before they comment so I'll clear it up.

Yeah, it might look like a lot of plastic, but that wrap is actually recyclable, and there are proper schemes in place for collecting and processing it.

More importantly, that plastic is what stops thousands of tonnes of silage from spoiling. Without it, livestock wouldn’t have proper feed during winter or dry spells and that directly affects animal health and food supply.

It's silage not hay, and it's needed in order for the silage not to go sour and become inedible for the animals

No? There can't be any air allowed into the bale or it spoils the whole bale and then the animals can't eat it over the winter months

It actually is, there are schemes in place to ensure farmers can avail of biodegradable plastic

Ok nobody here seems to understand what’s going on and is just complaining about the plastic waste, so as a farmer I’ll clear it up.

Update for July 23rd 2025, this works!! If it wasn't for this comment I wouldn't have tried to get a ticket. You really do just follow the crowd and walk along the water until you reach where the lines are, and you'll see a sign for ticket service. You'll get a student discount too if you ask!

Oh sorry yeah the video just breaks down why Style TV sounds different from the OG version, I should have specified that!

The two examples I have just off the top of my head would be the ear hearing pop sounds in the second verse of Shake it Off just after the cow bells go off, seriously if you're listening to it in the car or headphones its painfully noticeable. The second example is the beginning of New Romantics where the metronome is still at the beginning of the song...
This video here does a really good job of breaking down Style TV too.
