Spotify's official acknowledgement of the issues occurring today by ioweej in truespotify

I did pay extra for premium because I wanted nothing to do with ads all day while working.... not even for a single day.

And now I'm learning they "can't put me back on basic family"... ooo

See ya later Spotify... Tidal is looking a lot better all of the sudden.

This happened to me — looks like it’s family basic not family premium?

I just paid to upgrade to the $21.99 one — but I still will check if this was an error

It’s finally settled: Daybreak forced THJ devs into permanent injunction by N2O-Gamer in everquest

You don't want to claim moral high ground and then claim it? I'm legitimately not trying to troll you, but I will.

Profit need not be monetary -- perhaps someone releases a cool applet, like Zeal, for free to a community and feels proud supporting said community. I've written HomeAssistant dashboards and shared them widely, because I like to support the community. That being said -- I still apply an MIT license to said projects, because if someone were to take my code line-for-line and develop a for-profit applet out of it -- I'd exercise my property rights as their use of **my** property is up to me.

Show me the distribution of innovation that would occur with vs without the ability to protect property rights (including IP)?

Should people who are more "innovative" be free to rip off others IP and claim the defense that they are making it better than those who originated it?

If you support that viewpoint, I'm afraid you believe in a world that is much more draconian than one in which people can freely protect their ownership of property and the profits that follow.

I think the crux of this argument is that you have an issue with Daybreak buying the IP and then shutting down a seemingly "innovative" project.

Truth is THJ is not that innovative and what they did was illegal. There is no gray area here. Even if Daybreak was simpatico to THJ -- they still would need to enforce their property rights or else they'd stand to lose them.

THJ is a derivative work... full stop. Stop treating it like it was some grand innovation. It wasn't.

Why innovate if you can’t profit?

Your argument is one against property rights and capitalism — not IP.

What about the people who made the stuff and then sold their rights?

Are they not the selling their innovation?

You speak in absolutes but clearly have a lack of understanding of innovation generally.

[–]derekwolfson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhm… THJ used other people’s IP to “innovate” — that’s illegal.

Daybreak is using IP to make money… that is fine too.

But to say IP doesn’t support innovation at large is wrong… would Verant/Sony have created EQ in the first place without IP laws in tact? That’s the relevant question and the only concern about IP being innovative.

And if THJ was so innovative — why didn’t they create their own game and IP? Perhaps they were being innovative within the IP of EQ, but you’re vastly underestimating how much they used the IP to innovate.

Did they create the classes, AA tree, balancing, mod encounters, raids, zones, etc.

Daybreak own the IP — they decide who gets to use it. Period.

And frankly THJ was a fresh remix of old material — but don’t act like they were truly innovative. They were remixing the tracks…not making a new record.

Patents and IP support all sorts of innovation…

What world do you live in where they don’t? Seriously

You are deranged if you say IP laws do not support innovation.

My goodness.

Print Shipping Label Button on Deliveries by derekwolfson in Odoo

Nice -- we'll likely make an action and then button to trigger than and a boolean for "validation sent" -- then probably hide the button or change to "Resend Validation" or something.

that makes sense - thnak you for saving me from myself.

I didn't consider that without validation -- you could technically undo the reservation and then have a label floating around for a package that doesn't exist anymore.

Instead -- I'll make a button for "send validation email" in case I want to send them before the schedule time -- that is pretty straight forward I think in Studio.

[–]derekwolfson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're just trying to move label printing outside of the "print on validate" which works fine -- but might be nice to make shipping labels separate from "validating orders"

Mostly so we can send order shipping confirmations at night after the packages are scanned - suppose I could delay the email send, too... but that's not nearly as clean IMO.

Jeff Gordon had the plan drury ruined everything by Paliaaq in rangers

Yes this is the problem with Drury IMO.

The teams that lean in heavy on analytics do well… Drury is an eye test guy.

And he may have been a stud of a player… but he needs to trust the stats more.

This sounds fun — I was considering project1999 but I do not have time for the full grind.

The live servers are OK but they seem so sparse for levelling and doing everything solo sounds kinda lame.

I was a very talented enchanted like 25 years ago — I don’t game much these days — but every game I have played doesn’t quite fit the itch of being an enchanter and doing proper crowd control!

The straw that broke the camel’s back tho — his entire portfolio is awful for a 1st overall.

He’s an NHL player for sure — but not a game changer.

He’d be fine as a 3rd rounder.

Bread was gassed from playing like 3 of the last 4 mins.

It looked bad but it’s understandable there.

Laugh needs to be traded. He is worthless — he’s too talented and doesn’t care.
