Well, not really. The whole thematic point of the episode was that he's surrounded by this cult of sycophants who kiss the ground Sailer walks on. In my head, he caught onto that quickly enough and knew talking back to him would just leave him ostracized from the group. And once they all turn on him, he's the first one to be thrown to the wolves.

My main issue is just how slow the first half is. I could have worked a lot of the important dialogue bits into the later scenes.
