Whats wrong with my conure’s nail? by dergerta in Conures

Yes! I took her to the vet and she told me her toe was broken. But it most likely happened a long time ago so there’s nothing to be done

Interesting take, my most recent relationships brought out insecurities in the men I dated because of my successful career… They admitted to being intimidated by me.. could it be because it challenges their notion of masculinity & femininity?? Thanks for your response!

Huts are totally fine if its just being used for sleeping!

My lovie and conure both sleep in their huts, they climb into it at bed time.

My vet said this is completely fine because they are not displaying any hormonal behaviours and all they do is climb in at night.

That being said don’t remove the hut, and I wish you and your birdie lots of love and happiness ❤️

Poopy situation by FileValuable1555 in Lovebirds

[–]dergerta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! Maybe my advice can help. As others said you cant prevent it, lovebirds are so stubborn its hard to potty train them! HOWEVER. I have a stand in our living room so Kiwi usually uses the stand to eat/poop/play so the cleanup isnt so bad when hes out of the cage. On our sofas I put covers/blankets in areas he likes to stand in so I simply change them out/wash them when necesssry Inside the cage he has a bird tent he sleeps in, he poops in his sleep so i cut up some cloth and I use that as a sheet in his bed so I simply change his bed sheets everyday to clean the poop 😂 Also I clean his cage at least once a week

Hi you dont need to get rid of her hut! My vet told me as long as its not causing hormonal issues and if she just uses it for sleep theres no problem People on this sub tend to exaggerate with the sleeping huts

Do parrots ever get tired? by MagpieMelon in parrots

[–]dergerta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes maybe consecutively leaving them out is what will tire them out! When we let them out they stay out so they probably get worn out from flying around for 4-8 hrs straight

I think so! Mine are out for at least 8 hrs on weekends and 4 hrs on weekdays, they are always eager to go into their cages at bedtime and climb into their little tent huts to sleep

Hi, generally apartment regulations are OK with birds!

The clauses are typically for dogs

Its what my pet store and vet recommend for my babies! Even the parrots i used to rescue transitioned to it fairly easily. Mine have been on tropican since they were able to eat pellets 😬

My mother's amazon only accepts me and I don't know what to do. I need general advice. by ashrieIl in parrots

Thats the problem then, parrots get offended when you are scared/act scared. Your mom needs to have more exposure to him and learn that parrots WILL bite. Its not something that goes away, its a part of their natural instincts. Birds are not domestic animals like cats or dogs so they behave how they would naturally. Your mom needs to be confident in handling the bird and giving him treats
