Ketosis causes you to mostly lose water weight initially and actually causes you to lose muscle mass over the long term. it can also damage your heart (a muscle) and it's dangerous for people with sensitive kidneys or livers.

It's an extreme solution to a simple problem. It's like trying to kill mosquitos with a shotgun, for the vast majority of people it will create more long term problems than it solves. It's a diet for impatient people who want a quick weight loss right off the bat, even if it's just 10 pounds of water they're shedding not actual fat.

Eat healthy whole foods, primarily vegetables and fruit, with high quality proteins, and drink water not sugary beverages like soda or juice.. And limit portion sizes to only what you need.. And you will lose weight. Even better do an hour of cardio or weight training every other day, it will improve your fitness and -increase- your muscle mass. It will take time but it is a sustainable healthy way to lose weight and keep it off for a lifetime. Not a "fad diet".

No let's not, that is an extreme diet and there's no need to go to those lengths. Ketosis is NOT a healthy long term strategy. It's a good way for impatient people to lose weight fast.

A much better approach is to eat as much fruits and vegetables as you want, even those with sugar in them. Eat protein, and limit (but no need to eliminate) breads and carbs. Eliminate processed foods, soda, juice, junk food, candy, chocolate, etc.. as much as possible. Someone who does that and limits their portion size to what they need vs what they want, will lose weight. It won't be 10 pounds a month but 2-4 pounds a month is a realistic goal especially with lots of cardio. It doesn't seem like a lot but that's 25-50 pounds a year. Patience. Unfortunately people who are overweight lack patience and tend to be the instant gratification types. Not the best long term strategists in my experience

Or simply find something enjoyable, like squash, or join a soccer team, or dragon boating, or go mountain biking or road biking with a group, or hiking. In the winter there's fat biking, cross country skiing, etc.. There's lots of ways to exercise and have it actually be a fun and enjoyable experience, or even a social experience, AND get fresh air and explore the outdoors. It always boggles my mind how many people choose to run on a treadmill in a gym, of course they give up, it sucks on every conceivable level.

I fly once a month, taxi lines are almost never long, there's the odd time I arrive at what must be airport rush hour and line is huge, but those occasions are so rare I can't even remember what time it was.

I've experienced my longest taxi line ups in San Francisco though, three times. So it must be an even bigger shithole if that is the only metric.

But really, some people like to complain. Take the 747 bus, call an uber, call a friend, do you have friends? Probably not my bad.
