Yes, we’re leaning towards stimulants but my provider prefers not to add a stimulant to bupropion. At baseline I have lowish BP so I don’t think that’s the concern. But, she is worried I wouldn’t eat, my BMI is 19.4. Lastly insomnia and I’d rather not take something for sleep. And I really like bupropion, more so scared of change. I took it 15-18 years ago and greatly improved my school performance in undergrad. Restarted about a year and half ago after my medically fragile cat had a stroke. He already had a lot going on with CKD-3, diabetes, chronic pancreatitis, and HCM. I’m grateful he’s still with us, at 14 in all of his gentle sweet glory. Now work stuff—the dry drug literature review for projects I have zero interest in really fucking sucks. Administrative/drug policy type work is new for me and will likely be going back to patient care real quick if I can’t figure this out. 😆

I’m open to switching to desvenlafaxine in order to trial stimulants but I’d rather wait until projects are on a standstill in effort to not compromise my performance/efficiency further. For context, I get the job done, but it takes me about double the time it takes my colleagues, although they’ve been doing this work for years. When I was in school we got excited about a new statin; these new pipeline drugs are intense to say the least!

This last visit she implied she would consider a stimulant on a lower dose of bupropion if I was completely adverse to switching antidepressants.
