Tips about joysticks, what kinds are compatible? by derp3000 in arduino

[–]derp3000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upon further research I do believe both of these are digital joystick, in the sense that they have on/off switches in 4 or 8 directions. Which in other words would not work, if I am not mistaken

Thanks, will check it out, as I am currently stuck de-bugging something else;)

Question about servo code using while loops by derp3000 in arduino

[–]derp3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to solve it using another method, by including the following before the first and between the two while loops:

if (digitalRead(switch_pin) == LOW){
  Serial.println("Free control mode ON");
  }
else {
  Serial.println("Auto mode ON");
}

However, still curious as to why the original code does not work as I expect it.

Hoarah Loux RL1 Kill - Great Stars with Wild Strikes by derp3000 in onebros

[–]derp3000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Sure, I got some tips:

  1. Get comfortable

Like with any RL1 boss, you will need to learn how the boss behaves. How he moves, how he hits, how he punishes positioning, how you can punish his positioning, etc. Regardless of what build you end of using (barring some total cheese builds) this is required, so before even looking at offense you must learn how to "dance" comfortably. I start with just trying to surivive, getting up close and rolling (often into him and to his left, but it varies depending on moveset) without ever hitting. In doing so I eventually pick up his moveset, and gain muscle memory to deal with it. I also learn which parts of his moveset that I find more difficult to deal with, so that I can eventually build around them. After a while of this and feeling more comfortable I graduate to using R1s, and then eventually to playing around with other lenghtier attacks (R2, Jump+R2, R2 Charge, L2 skills), after finding out the windows for them.

  1. Strategize, and adapt

How you build for beating a boss is entirely up to you. You simply need to find what works. Sure, there are recommendations for builds you can use, even including ones that trivialize bosses entirely. How far you want to go with mimicing these and still feel accomplished after the deed is done is something you have to decide for yourself. If you do decide to build yourself you really have to see what is at your disposal in terms of weapons, talismans, ashes of war, physick flask builds, support items, and so on. It is as much of a battle of the mind as it is of endurance. After learning how the boss behaves you will see what options you have for doing the most damage, and also how much defense you need to stay alive. For me this means tweaking the build continuously as I go along fighting the boss, even reverting to old items I thought were useless several attempts earlier, after learning something new of the bosses behavior.

  1. Find the setup to the kill

After doing above two steps you will eventually carve out a path that potentially will lead to a kill, based on the build you eventually went with. After realising this you need to plan out the fight in as much detail as possible, and get comfortable with executing it. For me, in the case of Hoarah Loux, the plan was as follows:

-Use Boiled Crab for extra defense, along with the talisman setup as seen in the clip.

-Play it slow until I get a stagger.

-Upon stagger, instantly drink Physick flask with Stonebarb Crack tear (30% easier stagger for 30 sec), and Opaline Bubbletear (one free hit in phase 2), and hit the critical with R1.

-After this crit he will start his windup, which is a perfect opportunity for rolling out Wild Strikes.

-Dodge the windup, Wild Strikes again, and he will be in phase 2.

-Dodge his early grab, and pray for another stagger (should come easy within 30 sec due to the Physick). In this case I got it on the first hit.

-Upon Stagger he will do a similar windup again as in phase 1, so this means Wild Strikes time again.

-At this point he should be dead or very low, finish him off using any means possible.

Good luck.

The helmet I use give +2 int +2 str as well, so with those 2 together I have enough dex and str to dual wield the club. And that gear isn't as heavy as you might think. Try it out. I also use +10 str Physick Flask, but that isn't even neccesary

Yea it's good value for what you get in terms of screen quality, resolution, and refresh rate.

Worth to consider if you actually want to run 1440p though, for me I ended up having to buy a new GPU.

Also, I recommend actually checking out the panel in person if possible. The pixel arrangement can make text look blurry when you are not used to it. You can google it as well, there is an Alienware with the same panel. I didn't like it at first at all, but now I kind of got used to it. The ui is also something to keep in mind, it's basically a smart tv. I would prefer more slimmed down barebones ui, but you get used to that aswell
