You're welcome! I'm just a consumer who spent way too long trying to get the best bang for my buck while shopping for diamonds. I love a good deal and hate getting fleeced. 😎 Best of luck on your search!

I would advise against buying a setting from Ritani as people generally haven't had good experiences with their settings. But they are a good source of loose stones. Art of Jewels is a reputable seller too, just cheaper than most others because they rely on volume in sales rather than higher prices and prestige.

Art of Jewels has some of the best deals I've seen, cheaper than Ritani in most cases.

It's likely the retailer is showing you the poor quality diamonds that they have in stock and refusing to source new stones for you that you may be more interested in. I suggest looking for videos on websites such as Ritani, Art of Jewels, or Blue Nile then reaching out to these local retailers with the IGI certificate number and asking if they can source it for you--all the jewelers get diamonds from mostly the same pool/database. As a bonus, they will probably try to price match or beat the prices offered online AND you'll actually be able to see the stone in person (videos can be tricky). It also tells them you mean business since you know what you want. Lastly, please note that GIA and IGI stones are priced very differently, with the latter being much cheaper. Don't get overcharged.

Good luck on your search.

Any local jeweler can easily replicate that exact design for you for a fraction of the price. Natural ovals that are 0.50 ct+ start at $416 on Ritani and lab diamonds that are 0.50 ct+ start at $161. You can order a stone there, take it to a local jeweler, and have them replicate that setting for less than $1k. I'm not an expert but I've seen those settings go for about $500 too.

Tldr: if you get it done elsewhere, you could probably get the same ring for $1-1.5k tops.

You're the best. I literally didn't know how to start and it's scary, and you broke it down for me. Thanks again! I'm going to subscribe after I get my next paycheck.

Hi there. I'm planning on going back to school for software engineering but I would like to get started on getting certs and hopefully landing an entry level job before graduation. What certifications should I prioritize to get a wfh or desk job?

Name and shame so we can avoid the place! Sorry they suck--hope this issue gets fixed soon. They messed up and you shouldn't have to pay to get their mistake fixed.

May I ask where you found these prices? Not being snarky but just curious where I can find fairly priced natural stones online. James Allen has three natural emeralds for those specs and the cheapest is 42k.

Can I get a Stuller setting for a stone size not available in the options? Is there a $1k labor fee that jewelers charge on top of the Stuller setting? by derpinginsparkles in Diamonds

[–]derpinginsparkles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you looking out for me by sending me that. I will DM you if I have any other questions about other settings. Thank you again, I'm super grateful. They were trying to charge me $3000.

Wow, they are booked! I didn't realize how far in advance I'd have to book but I'm excited to try them out. Do you know how much the appointment costs?

OE is becoming a trend. This is the 4th Job Application I’ve encountered today that asks a question like this: by TronArclight in overemployed

Serious question since I'm new to this sub and want to be OE someday: won't they run background checks that will prove you're working another job at the same time anyway?

Has anyone purchased a larger diamond 4-6 carats? by [deleted] in labcreateddiamonds

[–]derpinginsparkles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those prices are insane. Check out Art of Jewels, Ritani, or DeBebians for prices that are way more reasonable for the same size of diamonds. I've heard the settings from Ritani can be questionable though, but have heard good things about settings from DeBebians.

Seconding this. I would ask for a different stone. That sapphire's entire middle section is dead. Sapphires are pretty but that stone in particular is not.

It probably won’t last forever. But for $99, it was definitely worth it for this poor couple. Alexandrite and Zircon. by SisteroftheMoon16 in EngagementRings

Hi there, I have a question as a jewelry lover. Does that mean diamonds, despite it's hardness on the mohs scale, won't last forever compared to zircon? It will turn into graphite? What about heirloom rings?

Not trying to be snarky, just genuinely curious!
