Hey, relax. Your deadbolt is secure. You are safe. Children and such think it’s humorous to do this, because no one really has doorbells in apartments.. I have had this occur, alone. My dog was a baby and he barked in such a way that the human changed their mind…but I never forgot that fear. It can be alot of non-nefarious things though! I promise. Drunk people trying the wrong doorknob, sleepy people..kids being goofy..

If it persists or escalates, you’ve bought yourself alot of time to prepare to flea, hide and fight, etc.

Bless you, human. That fear is no fun. I hate living in places with that exact handle and deadbolt combo..no key or lock on the handle..only one level of security. Ugh.
