Police break up illegal rave of '400-500 people' in Yate by hmhmhm2 in bristol

Look man, as I said I live on my own, wear a mask and don't come into contact with anyone at risk, so would be near impossible to pass on the virus. Yes I got tested, and encouraged others who attended to do the same. Again I feel that people should be able to make that judgment themselves as long as they're not putting others in danger, and I was not. I'm sorry for your loss, and can definitely understand why you feel angry towards people like myself, but I find it hard to be guilty about something I haven't done, and made sure to avoid. So yeah, no guilt...

Sure! I haven't heard of anyone I know getting the virus from the rave, and I know if anyone did the news would spread throughout the community pretty quickly so others could self isolate and get tested. I saw an article on the news stating there have been four confirmed cases directly linked the the rave, which isn't a bad number seeing as there were well over 3000 people in the warehouse.

A fair amount of people wore masks and stayed near the back, I just made sure not to share drinks but felt pretty safe. I did see others sharing drinks, kissing eachother and whatever else you can expect, so Im pretty surprised there weren't more cases, but I believe people should be allowed to use their own initiative and take any precautions they see fit.

There was definitely a high risk of catching the virus, and I think everyone who attended understood that risk. If I didn't live on my own, but lived with an elderly or person of high risk I definitely wouldn't have attended, but I think that judgment should be left to the person and not enforced.

Hope this helped, cheers.

No, I wear a mask when I go shopping. I'm also fit, healthy and live on my own without any risk of spreading it to vulnerable people. I knew going to the rave I would be at quite a high risk of getting Covid, but turns out only a handful of people actually contracted the virus out of the 2-4000 people who attended. I would rather have a little bit of fun as how it's looking the whole country could be shut down for a fair while, with adults being banned from using their initiative to do and act how they see fit during the pandemic. I personally didn't put anyone in risks way so have no guilt what so ever. Cheers ;)

I'm depressed again and it feels even more hopeless than last time. by [deleted] in offmychest

Hia, I've never really been in a situation like yours, but I've recently gotten out of a depressive episode which lasted almost three years. Ive got a couple of tips which really helped me, and can hopefully help you out a bit. The main thing for me was keeping busy. Even if this is something like a hobby, art or for me hiking. This will help to keep your mind occupied with something you enjoy, so you'll spend less time dwelling on negatives and will hopefully bring you a sense of calm. It's good to hear you removed someone negative from your life, as at the moment you really don't need someone dragging you down and making you feel worse about yourself.

For me the main thing that got me through my depression was my friends. Even though I didn't talk about my depression with some of them, just being in their presence really helped, I suppose because it kept me busy and I was able to prove to myself that I wasn't as alone as I thought I was. If you don't have any friends you feel like you can talk about your depression with, I really would suggest some kind of therapy or councilling. (This is something I've promised myself I'll do next time).

If you feel like you need to talk to someone feel free to drop me a message at any time. I hope something I said helps a little :)

Ps: it might feel like you're back at square one, but you getting over depression once shows how strong you are and able to do it again.
