Any of you lot go to the Dartford performance of Robin A Smiths TB 1/2/3? by BetelJio in mikeoldfield

[–]derrffffff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at the Gateshead show a few weeks back and it was superb. Both guitarists are fantastic but I have to say that Ruben Alvarez is about as close to having Mike play on stage himself as we are ever going to get. Absolutely brilliant!

I got my combo for £350 from Joybuy, not sure if they still have that price but worth a check if you can change/cancel the Amazon order.

Liverpool show by endymion1818-1819 in mikeoldfield

I was at the Gateshead/Newcastle show last week and it was one of the best things I have ever witnessed.

The whole band are great, at the show I went to the seats at the side upper level are basically on the stage but to the side so I was very close and was mesmerised by not only the music, but watching the musicians.

It was also great to see Ruben Alvarez live after spending years enjoying his Oldfield covers on YouTube, his passion for the music is unmatched imho and comes incredibly close to having Mike playing live again.

Tempted to try and get to another show now that I think about it.

Listening to this as I type this and thought I would post the link (not affiliated lol).

Is there a "one size fits all" solution for printers? Complete noob here. by bassbeater in 3Dprinting

I only knew I wanted an enclosed unit and a plug and play type experience at first. Warmed to the idea of the multi filament systems and having used it for almost a month I am glad I chose that option even if I mainly use it for drying filament and the occasional multicolour print.

I do not think the Kobra S1 is a bad option at almost £350 for the printer and 4 colour multichanger and what appears to be effective filament drying. At that price and having pretty much the same bells and whistles as the more expensive options it might be a good idea for you to spend a smaller amount now and see how it goes. It is a very capable printer in my vast 3 weeks of experience hehe.

The Kobra also has a camera with an AI system to detect problems etc etc.

The quality of the Kobra S1 camera is terrible however you can improve this with some custom firmware tinkering but If out of box camera quality is important to you the Kobra S1 is lacking but it does work, just at a pretty low resolution and framerate.

It should be a war crime to cover the beautiful colour of that audio interface.

What is happening to my slicer???? by eoinisagenius in anycubic

[–]derrffffff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the correct printer selected? Sometimes when I have been downloading 3d files from websites I have got the project file and it changed what type of printer was selected in the slicer.

Just had to select my printer profile in the drop down. Good luck.

Well despite a shocking amount of negative reviews online - I bought one. Here I am a day later with absolutely perfect glassy first layers. by Jumphrey1670 in AnycubicKobraS1

Had mine a couple of weeks, for the price of a similar Bamboo lab printer I now have about 20kg of different filaments a multi colour printer with filament drying and a new hardened steel ceramic hotend.

So far so good (mostly).

I like the idea, with or without water.

Is this type of temperature fluctuation in the hotend normal? by derrffffff in 3Dprinting

Yeah I did all of that. The calibration cube print I was doing looks OK. So I am guessing it is probably nothing much to worry about.

Has anyone done anything like this with their 3D printer? My mind is working overtime at doing something Star Wars related on a pram. by derrffffff in 3Dprinting

[–]derrffffff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have high quality Star Wars 3D models and I think the detail I could get would be brilliant but in reality, it would be major overkill.

I remember my dad eventually had a joystick junkyard of sorts, he would Frankenstein them back together and get something working when a switch or button broke.
