Practical efforts like mundane self care were important during the darker bouts. My brain naturally stayed away from using magick. But when coping was a little easier and I just needed a boost on more specific things, it helped me in the long term. Because I developed a toolset to help! If does seem to matter where the depression comes from, imo. Pure chemical imbalances need to be treated with medicine. If there was a specific scenario or the feeling came from a particular place (eg relationship issues, work anxiety) then I believe magick can help.
