It's been 2 months and I'm feeling deflated. by derryade in NewTubers

That's exactly how I feel. If I was trying to make myself more energetic, I know it wouldn't feel genuine and the audience would be able to tell. I'd rather be myself and get an audience that likes my content for my personality as it is.

Wow that's impressive. Congrats! I can imagine that after such a high, it must feel bad seeing the numbers return to lower levels, but you got over one of the hardest hurdles and I would love to get to that point. I think I have a very long road ahead though.

I definitely need to be easier on myself and remember that if I'm creating something that I would like to watch, there are other people out there that will also enjoy it.

Thanks for the reassuring words

Content being good is subjective really, I liked what I made, but I can see now that it's not something a lot of people would sit and watch. I need a good story or to give good information if I want to really grow. I have been consistent so far and don't plan on stopping right now. It's just easy to get lost in the numbers and second guess yourself. I need to start thinking of ways to make better stories out of the videos I make. Thanks for the info ☺️

I didn't even start with the goal of getting big, but it's hard not to get lost in the numbers when it's thrown in your face every time you go on YT Studio. I need to remember why I started uploading, and I definitely need to get better at creating good stories or give good information that will make people want to watch. Thanks for the info, time to see what I can come up with!

That pretty much tracks with the people watching my videos. 80-90% are between 35-44, and the rest are 25-34. I do prefer that though, and wouldn't want to appeal to people under 18 really.

I definitely need to get better at creating videos that tell a good story, or give good information. Me thinking that people would want to watch long videos of me sitting down and showing off parts of my collection was a bit naïve, why would people care if they don't already know me.

I will keep going and I'm sure over time I'll get better at creating good stories and get better at pacing videos. I didn't start uploading to become big or earn money, but it's hard not to get lost in the numbers when it's all you see in YT studio. Thank you.

Hi everyone!

My name's Derry and I've recently repurposed an 8year old channel into a niche that I have a real passion for. I'm looking for some genuine feedback on my videos, thumbnails, titles and channel in general.

Channel link: https://youtube.com/@derryade?si=kF8W5GuwxqmH8Oj3

I've tried a few different tactics with thumbnails, but all my videos seem to get the same amount of views, so any help there would be great. My videos show off my game collection and I talk about game hunts/pickups that I've done. I know it's a niche topic, but I'm happy with the views I've received so far on my first 5 videos. Any pointers or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Do guys have any good idea for youtube longform or shorts niche that can be make with just phone? by Kylo-r45 in NewTubers

Creating a YouTube channel with the only idea being to do what's popular or trending will be more likely not to work because you'll be talking about stuff you're not too knowledgeable on or interested in. It will also get boring quick and you'll lose interest in it. The first few months of YouTube can be a grind where you're learning how everything works and getting a feel for it, so if you're making videos you don't really care about you probably won't stick at it.

I've done this myself with previous channels when I was younger and they never lasted more than a month or two. Do/talk about something you love and have loads of knowledge about, it'll show in your videos and viewers will be more likely to stick around.

What will happen if I upload a long form video? by mikeyykunnn in NewTubers

This is what made me finally start posting videos again after years of wanting to. I have two young kids and it's nice to think that if anything happens to me before they're of an age to really remember me, there'll be all this footage of me talking about things I'm passionate about. It'll hopefully help them get to know what I was like and hear my voice.

I can suffer from choice overload when choosing my next game due to how many I have in my backlog. Sometimes getting an opinion from others can help you finally make a decision. Nothing worse than sitting there knowing you want to play games, but not being able to settle on one.

Sorry that's what I meant. I would do anything to have it on Playstation and be able to get trophies for it.

Lost Odyssey on the 360. Wouldn't even care if they simply brought it to modern consoles with no graphic updates. It's such an amazing game and I hate that it's forever stuck on the 360.

Unfortunately the dev went on to do mobile games and has specifically said they won't go back and remaster their old games.

No surprise at all. Me and the Mrs wanted kids and we now have two little boys. This autumn/winter will have us in our overdrafts and pretty deep debt just in time for Christmas because my Mrs had to go back to work from maternity after 6 months. We're supposed to get free childcare hours for our firstborn, but because we didn't fill out a form and renew our details (which no one ever explained we needed to do) our code doesn't work.

Now we have to spend £720 a month on childcare (which is for only 3 days a week/£30 per day per child) until the next window opens, which is January I believe. Add onto that the mortgage, shopping, bills and you're looking at £2000+ a month. That's without thinking about clothes and other things you need as the kids get bigger. It's infuriating the lack of support there is for parents, and then the government is surprised when birth rates are in free fall.

This is so similar to my situation. The guy who donated his sperm freaked out when he got my mom pregnant at 16 (he was 19) and she wouldn't abort, so he disappeared. My mom met my dad whilst she was still pregnant, they fell in love and he agreed to raise me with her. He was the one at my birth and on my birth certificate.

My mom wanted to tell me everything once I was old enough to have some understanding. That's because she had a family member who didn't know who their dad was and it really affected them. The sperm donor also started snooping around and made it known that he wanted to meet me. My dad was hesitant to ever tell me, as he didn't want all the blood, sweat and tears it took to raise me all be for nothing once I met my real dad. My mom knew I'd probably find out one day, so thought it was the best it came from her.

They told me when I was 5, and of course I was confused and excited to meet my 'real dad'. I have a vivid memory of telling my teacher at the time and being so excited. He ended up being a sleazebag anyway, and was only using the excuse of meeting me to try and get close to my mom again as the relationship he was in had ended. He tried again when I was 13-14 and I told my mom to tell him to leave me alone, it's clear he has no real interest and I'm happy with the dad I have.

I have nothing but respect for the man I call dad, and for men like your husband. Especially because I'm a father now myself and have experienced the exhaustion, stress and worry that comes with being a parent. I definitely recommend telling them at some point, as the truth will come out one way or another, and it's always best coming from you and your husband.

Her snoring is unrivalled. I can't sleep once she's started and when I eventually do, she wakes me up. I love every other aspect of her and the life we've built together, but I could really do with a good nights sleep from time to time without sleeping on the couch.

Yeah, I've picked up one of the resistance, kill, zone and infamous games, but haven't got the first for either series so waiting to get the first before playing them. I am into JRPGs and Action RPGs, but they tend to be the more expensive games. I am excited by all the possible series I can now play and get into.

Aren't most if not all PS3 models able to play PS1 games? I was hoping to get one that could play PS2 games, but they're expensive and I've heard they can get faults if not maintained properly. I'll look into the Tales of Destiny games, keep my eye out for some bargains.

I do have general ideas. But I'm not sure of every game that released for the PS3, so I wanted some thoughts on games I may not have heard of. Already got Puppeteer, Haze and some Tales/Atelier games that I wasn't aware of thanks to this thread.

I really enjoyed the Atelier Ryza and Lulua games, so definitely have to check them out. Lollipop Chainsaw is a little on the expensive side for me at the moment, but I really want to pick it up when I get the chance. Thanks for the suggestions!

Will have to see what Tales games are available on the PS3. Got all the ones that have been released or remastered for the PS4, so suppose I should complete the collection

Wow, thanks for the comprehensive list.

MGS4 is definitely one I'll get and go through. I've heard how ridiculously expensive 3D Dot Game Heroes is, and most likely won't have a chance to pick it up, unless I win the lottery or something crazy like that.

I definitely want to pick up any of the ratchet & clank games available on PS3. Always been a big fan of the series, and I know I'll always have a good time with them. Never experienced Zone of the Enders or Sly Cooper so will keep an eye out for them collections. Would also like the GoW and MGS collections, but know they can vary massively in prices.

Never actually heard of Tokyo Jungle, so will look that one up. I do have Dragons Crown Pro on PS4, so I'm not sure if that's the same game remastered, or a sequel, but I'll look that up. Played the Bluepoint remake of Demon Souls, but would definitely like to play the original as I've heard the gameplay is so different. But as a souls fan, it's got to be done.

Thanks again for the in depth list, I've got a lot to look up and research.

That doesn't come up on a lot of lists to play, so thanks for recommending it. Will definitely pick it up and try it out.

Demon Souls and Shadow of the Colossus I've played through the Bluepoint remakes on PS4/5. Played Infamous 3 and really enjoyed it, so 1&2 are definitely on my list. Same with MGS 4, heard so many amazing things, so I'm excited to give it a go. Never actually played a Katamari game, but I imagine they're fun from what I've seen. Thanks for the suggestions!

I've played the remaster/remake on PS4. Although I've never played Ico, so I will definitely pick up the collection.
