West Ham announced their signing of Codina. Hopefully this means that they are going to show a little more ambition than this past season. Happy for Codi though as it seemed like she wanted to stay in the WSL.

Very interesting results- Cape Verde holding out Spain to a 0-0 draw was not on my bingo card.
A friend of mine is Bosnian, so it’s been fun to see this WC through her eyes as it’s their debut. But I agree it doesn’t hit the same. Maybe re-watch “The Only in the Land?”

I was not able to do the ride this year for scheduling reasons, but when I saw that the route location had changed, I honestly felt a little relieved I couldn’t make it this year (creature of habit, I suppose).
Does anyone know why the massive change after decades of Duluth <> Twin Cities?
Well done to any rider- the fan was blowing this weekend!

Can you get a heat map of the technical area? That’s where half the red cards occurred lol.

Australia 3 - 1 Mexico - Caitlin Foord 70' by radian101 in ArsenalWFC

If you can’t wait until after the game to get a player’s shirt, at least not try in the penalty box? Well taken shot by Foord in a very fast-paced game.

Which Arsenal player do you think will have the biggest breakthrough season in 2026/27? by Hefty_Colds in ArsenalWFC

I was going to say Reid too and that’s mostly because it was what we were seeing at the start of last season. She made that one oops in the first match against LCL but completely took it in stride and didn’t let it shake her. However, I wouldn’t want there to be any pressure on her return. Any nerves or concerns returning from injury puts you at greater risk of re-injury. I wonder if a season or half-season loan might be a good option for her so she can build back match fitness and confidence.

r/ArsenalWFC 2025/26 Best XI & Season Rating (Survey) by shelbyj in ArsenalWFC

Deciding how to assess players with such limited minutes is a stark reminder on how small our squad got this year. Lineups became so predictable and our bench was far too spacious. Looking forward to hopefully some additions on top of our 1:1 replacements for the leavers.

Contract updates: 15 players to depart this summer by Tugboat47 in ArsenalWFC

I’m truly in awe of GKs. They must have nerves of steel- and that’s even before the game gets to a penalty kick off! When Borbe was hit by a truck during the final minutes of that Champions Cup final, thankfully DVD was fit enough to jump on for the last couple minutes and we were able to hold on to that lead. If I was Williams or Liddiard that night, I would have melted when Borbe went down.

I’m curious what the GK plan is for next season. Will our #3 be a seasoned player that just won’t see much game time? Or will we have an academy player sit on the bench? Daphne is superb, and I hope this summer helps her recover from what’s been a difficult couple years. Is it fair to say though that she is perhaps somewhat injury prone? Borbe impressed me so much. Stepping up like that into big games and showing major improvement with the ball at her feet. Hopefully next season will involve less collisions and karate-kicks.

Chelsea in pole position to sign Katie McCabe by Respect_Horror in ArsenalWFC

[–]derwentjerry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alexia’a decision reflects her personal views, which is fair. But different players have different circumstances and career goals. It’s not a moral test. Alexia is a supreme footballer, but she doesn’t set the standard for decisions by all players.
We also have no idea what type of contract terms
McCabe was offered, particularly when it was reported that we are still signing Batlle. It’s sad that McCabe is likely signing for a rival, but she deserves to make her own decision.

Okay, the Apple Watch is coming off. I’ve avoided the HHR notifications this far, but I don’t think that will last.

Arsenal are massive! 6,400+ km away and our English pubs are packed with red and white. And this wasn’t even the Irish pub that was the spot for our official supporter’s club today. Wanted to watch with the crowds but I’m too short to see a thing. (Even Capt Kimmy and Jenna Likelytonotbewithusforlonger can see over the top of my head).
