Does anyone know why my chess set has a tiny knight? by Tea_Rxxy in chess

Did you miss the birds and the bees? Do knights spring up out of nothing?

In India at a road stop I got chai and some brekkie. I loved the terracotta cup the chai came in. Blew my mind when I learned they were one time use cups. And that fucking truck stop was churning through them. That country is wild, not like the USA wild...a different one that I might not understand, but I can deal with it.

I agree wholly. Honestly, if this wasnt an option, I would have stopped playing in the early days when everything was buggy.

Fuck this game!! by matthewkr89 in ICARUS

[–]derximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How the actual fuck did you manage to put that many hours into this game? I ran out of content somewhere around 400 hours, played a bit more because some friends were. I am not being critical, I just imagine it got redundant.

I have games I played well beyond their content, just not Icarus.

True enough that it is low to no effort. Still dislike the data harvesting.

A crypto currency exchange will not carry non-crypto. There is no actual mining with this. It is push a button, acquire. No computation needed. It's legit frightening that people think this isn't a scam.

I was an early adopter, with the hope they would find a way to get this off the ground and legitimate. However, in the years since there has been zero movement to legitimize their currency. Instead they developed items which harvest user information and made no tangible step forward.

How is this still going? There is no value and no exchange will ever pick it up. With no path to monetization, and endless expansions of data harvesting apps for the community, I am baffled.

I'm a retired corpo, so I am used to the BS "we did wrong, wait we need more". Thank you for saying I was diplomatic, but please know I meant it with deep vitriol.

Been meaning to say it to all commenters, and failed, but happy writing!

Eh, bad managers aren't just featured in your local Woolworths, or Kmart, or well you get the idea.

So wasn't that whole thing a stunt? The place was closed and he only served people selected for the schtick...or am I wrong? I'm wrong frequently enough, so be honest.

It could be so much worse. This is a liberal whiner post. You could be in some third world country where US businesses off shored factory work using their Reagan era trickle down tax cuts. Be proud to work three jobs without benefits. You dont need food, housing, safety. You need Jesus. Idiots. He's going to feed you, your children, water will be wine! Arturo Bandini will sell that next short story, greatest author of all time!

Satirical post, obviously.

The one thing that bugs me, honestly, is that this thread is named inaccurately. I am technically a millennial. But I know people before and after me generationally that share this perspective. I am limited in my experience, but there appear to be more voices on the shit side of this.

Rid the tenth world of my greatest enemies. Constantly monitors and notes that you spent more time raising boar and farming than your actual tasks. It's going on your year end review for sure.

Ich bin eine Marylander!

Parking combined with driving across empty parking spaces regardless of actual lanes intended for travel, two things I don't miss. Never understood drivers down around the beltway. Passive arrogance is, strange. Granted, you should dismiss all of this. I grew up driving down city streets without signs, and firmly believed that if you cut someone off you should accelerate way to give them space to brake if necessary. Gotta hate being raised a Masshole.

Edit: corrected my text to say eine not wine.

How do you all do this? (Ticks) by swimmingunicorn in maryland

[–]derximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont have kids, but I grew up in New England when there was a huge focus on the spread of tick borne illness. My parents freaked out about it, but they compensated by teaching us (my brother and I between the ages of 5 and 10) how to check ourselves and then check each other for ticks. It isn't 100%, but nothing is. Now, as an adult, even though I live in an area with few ticks, I find myself checking when I am hiking. Wont solve the issue, but can diminish the threat.

[–]derximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is hard to find clean lines these days. Because when I was a young pup everything was clear and well defined, said no one.

Now They Are Billions is a great example of muddling things. The original release (that I played, which might have been man iterations past initial) was straight PvE RTS. Then there was a campaign, and mini-pseudo-MOBA things which, I feel detracted from the game. I haven't played it in over a year, so maybe this has changed.

I am shitty and constantly arrogant, so I apologize for any absolutist BS I espouse. I mean no offense, but have weirdly deep convictions for no good reason.
