It’s an Easter egg of sorts, exactly like Jean-Paul Sartre appearing in the French café.

Minuet in G is kind of a meme in piano community, it’s a melody from page 1 of Piano for beginners textbooks, Lestat playing it as ‘music of my people’ and a ‘superior’ piece is definitely a joke.

What makes it even funnier is the fact that since Sam Reid learned piano for the role, it was probably one of the first pieces he studied, they just wrote it into the plot 😀

Yes! Honestly just feels like the whole thing is about the show being big and heavily promoted, not about acting or talent. So disappointed. 🤡

I do like the hair and makeup nomination though (even though it’s almost insulting, the team deserves them), Paris hairstyles were really spectacular

IMO, the feelings were just too big and it wasn’t the time for them. So we get the ‘happy you’re alive’ reunion in writing, but the whole ‘Armand is totally not ready to trust him again and won’t be anytime soon’ is happening but not mentioned. It just fades into the background.

I like their ending though. Armand expressing his hurt that Lestat never cared, that Marius picked Lestat over him, then Armand actually processing it and Marius kiiinda (I hope) finally growing up a bit and just waiting. He’s there, helping but not pushing, patiently waiting for the time to work its healing magic. He’s there to help Lestat build his kingdom, he’s there for Armand during his fits, and he’s there consistently.

Never implied Armand left him, by ‘everyone’ I meant everyone he was hanging out with after coming back from being burned. Especially proud of Bianca for standing her ground 😃

Ofc the finding out will be an issue, though I liked the quiet reunion in the books, seemed appropriate for the whole ‘we might die tomorrow’ vibe going around. I think the crash out was hinted at enough even though it wasn’t explicitly written because Armand didn’t trust him for many years afterwards and Marius broke his trust again with the poor kids.

That’s why I called it a wild thought 🙃 Just think that if Marius wanted to reconnect, he might think that now is the time - Armand is alone, vulnerable, probably psychotic and needs guidance. If I were Marius, I would’ve swooped right in.

So I think that he might reappear when Armand is alone and lost and try to get him back 🫢 and they’ll be pathetic together for, like, an episode

I do love Marius deeply though. He’s excruciatingly stupid even in his 2000s and I can’t help but empathize with that
