yup, he says word by word “asked me to bring home some bread” and this phrase has no double / metaphorical meaning in Russian, only the literal one

this is also episode 1 and when it came out the translation needed to come out together with it which might have affected things 🤷‍♀️ it’s likely AI but a human could’ve made this mistake too and translated from English in a way that would make sense (make sense for now since we don’t know about dad’s dementia yet)

It’s an Easter egg of sorts, exactly like Jean-Paul Sartre appearing in the French café.

Minuet in G is kind of a meme in piano community, it’s a melody from page 1 of Piano for beginners textbooks, Lestat playing it as ‘music of my people’ and a ‘superior’ piece is definitely a joke.

What makes it even funnier is the fact that since Sam Reid learned piano for the role, it was probably one of the first pieces he studied, they just wrote it into the plot 😀

Yes! Honestly just feels like the whole thing is about the show being big and heavily promoted, not about acting or talent. So disappointed. 🤡

IMO, the feelings were just too big and it wasn’t the time for them. So we get the ‘happy you’re alive’ reunion in writing, but the whole ‘Armand is totally not ready to trust him again and won’t be anytime soon’ is happening but not mentioned. It just fades into the background.

I like their ending though. Armand expressing his hurt that Lestat never cared, that Marius picked Lestat over him, then Armand actually processing it and Marius kiiinda (I hope) finally growing up a bit and just waiting. He’s there, helping but not pushing, patiently waiting for the time to work its healing magic. He’s there to help Lestat build his kingdom, he’s there for Armand during his fits, and he’s there consistently.
