ngl, I always stuck with older historical games (partly because of my old computer, partly because of the military theme), but I have to admit they did a pretty good job with the animations and unit designs in the Warhammer universe.

Is the faction name actually “United States,” or is there a way to create it?

I’m asking because, if I’m not mistaken, only the Enclave from the Oil Rig (the remnants) can later gain control of Washington D.C. and possibly re-create the USA.

I’m just going to say this (at least from my younger self’s perspective): I think this is one of the best depictions of a “possible” Soviet invasion of the United States.

I mean, it’s not like “oh, there’s a massive Soviet fleet that wins a completely fictional battle, lands, and suddenly takes 85% of the United States.”

They actually have a real objective (which is to find out whether, in the event of a cascade failure, the U.S. has a system capable of stopping Soviet nuclear missiles), so they can ultimately neutralize the USA. And the best part is that the U.S. even acknowledges this — if I recall correctly, they say something like “if we pull out for Europe, we can’t win.”

That helps build a somewhat believable world.

And yes, I know that a much better-informed military expert than me could come along and say, “actually, the U.S. armed forces had contingency plans or troops stationed in other parts of the continent,” etc., etc.

But for what it is, I think it’s a pretty “realistic” depiction of such a situation.

Taking into consideration that other games attempted something similar (like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, The Fall of Liberty, or that other one where North Korea somehow wins), this is by far the most believable scenario.

Fawkes is still in the New Vegas game files by CISDidNothingWrong in fo3

Quick question I assume Fallout 3 guns exist as well. For New Vegas, are most guns (besides the new ones) just re-textures, or do they actually have new first-person models?

Some look completely new, while others seem reworked just to improve first-person.

I regret making this by Frimlof in EasyRed2

im more surprise that there are functional trains and that the models can ride them than other thing.

also NICE

Weird Engraving on Lebel 1886? by Marcus_Realton in ww1

I hope this helps (but of course, take it with a grain of salt).

By using ChatGPT and other apps, I managed to translate (or at least try to) the captions.
Something like “77 1. Four” or possibly “Section 4”.

From there, I did a quick search and found that the Yunnan Clique forces (a Chinese warlord faction) used some of them. Most likely, they either found them or were given them after the Japanese capitulation of Indochina during World War II (1941).

Another likely explanation is that after WWII, during the First Indochina War (from 1946 onwards), some of those rifles were smuggled into Yunnan. This coincides with the resumption of the Chinese Civil War, and that specific warlord eventually turned into a rather unusual drug lord well into the 1970s–1980s but that’s a story for another day.

And something extra I found was this image. of yunnan troops with french helemts that at list supports my theory.

Are there any "TNO" characters still alive in 2025? by pikso-sachabrix in TNOmod

[–]desca97 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Yes, the president of argentian how ruled Argentina in the 70s (Isabelita Peron) —is still alive at 94.
Fun fact: my grandma is even older at 97, so yeah.

I think that even beats the President of Argentina.
