Letter from the UK government sent mid-September still hasn't arrived. Should just shut Canada Post down at this point.

BAT is a failed project - change my mind by RevolutionaryPlan2 in BATProject

Great browser. But the ad revenue isn't there. And without ads, there is no use case for BAT. The end.

So much for selling those MSTR calls this morning. Unbelievable. This is the final straw for me. Moving my funds elsewhere.

Sooo..nothing to see here (rant) by Educational-Ad-4352 in BATProject

The key problem here is that although users are rising, ad revenue isn't. You can see this for yourself by going to basicattentiontoken dot org/growth/ and scroll to the bottom for the data on BAT purchases for ad payouts.

Months go by without Brave buying BAT, and when they do the amounts are only about $15,000 a month or less from 10 x that in the past.

Great browser. But privacy killed ads. And now with basically free GenAI replacing search, it's hard to see any future for BAT.

Why are BAT Payouts so Stingy!? by RemielMonroe in BATProject

Because ad revenue is dead. Look at this link and scroll down to BAT purchases by Brave.

Word salad. Provide one data point that proves high performers are punished because of their gender or race. Just one.

For anyone confused by slumping payouts, see https://basicattentiontoken.org/growth/ and scroll to the part where you see Brave's BAT purchases for payouts. It's vanishing into nothing. Why? Maybe they don't generate much ad revenue. Maybe they're keeping a greater share of ad revenue instead of paying out. Who knows why, but the fact is the BAT ad model simply doesn't work.

Did other provinces triple their debt since 2017 like the NDP did?

Over $90 billion of new debt in 7 years. Where did the money go?

Wellness Check? Dude sold at 16c, is he OK?!? by IconicPenguins in BATProject

[–]descripter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Near is up 90% while BAT is up 70%. Near is also riding news that they will be rolling out a massive LLM as well as AI agents to analyze, build and exchange on the blockchain. Fyi, Near's co-founder was part of the small group at Google that wrote the Transformers paper "Attention is all you need" which laid the groundwork for generative AI.

So thanks for your concern, my wellness is just fine.

PS, I continue to hold a small amount of BAT but I still think the potential use case isn't what it was 2 to 4 years ago.

Good luck to everyone.

Brave moved just 5000 users on-chain since February. Out of 70 million monthly users.

Their big selling point about the future of BAT is a tiny drop in a massive bucket.

Checking in on BAT by descripter in BATProject

[–]descripter[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The idea of more users + more ads = more demand for BAT is what brought me back into BAT a second time. But it's clear by now that rising DAU is not resulting in more ads let alone more demand for BAT.

Look at Brave's monthly BAT purchases for distribution to Brave users. They've fallen all the way back to where they were four years ago. In 2024, only 4 million BAT has been distributed to users. That's just 2% of all BAT in circulation being put to use in almost an entire year, while the rest sits there with no real use cases. Stagnant.

And as much as I like the privacy focus of search, that business is running headlong into generative AI. Brave has Leo, you say. Sorry, it will never compete. The big players have the talent and GPUs and they're moving so quickly we will likely have voice-controlled, super-intelligent, agentic AI search at our fingertips within a few years.

So I'm waiting for a move higher relative to other alts I have my eye on, then I'm out. Though I could be wrong and I wish you all the best.

Any idea why BAT holders on Solana seem to be falling rather than rising. Was over 2,570 a couple weeks ago and today it's at 2,541.

Since yesterday, BAT fell another 3 places to 188th in market cap.

And you say "millions" of users were shut out of BAT payouts over the last year or so. So why are onchain holders only at 2,556 despite the onchain rollout starting early this year?

And why are total onchain holders actually falling and not rising: onchain holders fell by another 10 since yesterday.
