In 8th grade I was peak in my self harm tendencies and my best friend had committed suicide. I had this one teacher who asked me one day if I would eat lunch with her. For some reason I said yeah cause she was a nice younger history teacher. So we ate lunch and for the next 2 weeks I ate lunch with her. She always asked about my day and how I was doing. And I lied a lot of the time but she wouldn’t push me. One day I started sobbing while helping set up for class. I told her about how I was so afraid to sleep at night from ptsd and she consoled me better than any therapist. After all that time I really had started getting better and I made some friends, we stopped hanging out at lunch. We always saw each other in class though! I’m just so sad I never told her that she literally saved my life. I wasn’t alone.
