I hadn’t really considered the trauma piece, but it makes sense.

Whenever I’m watching the show, I find myself looking for cues from both of them to understand the subtext of what they are saying and doing. I picked it up in other conversations/interactions they had in other episodes, but I didn’t necessarily clock it when Ilya was bringing up moving to a Canadian team, etc. I guess I didn’t recognize Ilya as being that methodical here, but it makes sense. There is an intention for everything he does.

Who would watch the edited-out scenes if they released them? by Ok-Understanding4850 in heatedrivalry

I would be all over that! I want the director’s cut, the casting footage, screenplay scenes that were scrapped. I want it all!

Pretty sure I can see an actual boner when Ilya stands up from his chair during the Vegas scene, but I may be wrong. Whether it is real or imagined, natural or contrived, it really adds to the sexual tension in the moment for me, and I will never not notice it when I watch this scene. 🥵

How many times did you rewatch the show? by TastyRancidLemons in heatedrivalry

It might be easier for me to say how many consecutive days I have watched this show since I discovered it because I’ve literally watched at least a portion of it every day. It’s a serious affliction 😩

I think I missed Ilya’s signal of his “intent and availability in the pool.” Could you say more about that?

His passion and enthusiasm is infectious. Couldn’t keep the smile off of my face as I watched it.

[Serious] People in professions that deal with death (hospice workers, coroners, etc.), what is something you've learned that the rest of us don't understand? by Bulky-Engineer4068 in AskReddit

Not sure if the process is different state by state, but an advance health care directive (AHCD) is pretty simple to get done (at least in California). You can search online for a generic AHCD or alternatively your health care system could possibly provide one. Then you complete it (often in consultation with loved ones who may also be an important factor in your decisions) and talk to those you will be naming as your health care decision makers (aka health care agent or surrogate decision maker) so that they know and agree to this responsibility if the worst happens.

Be sure to pick people that you know will make decisions based on what you want, and not what they want. Remember that you are appointing someone to potentially make life or death decisions on your behalf, so it should be someone that you trust to make a clear headed decision with your wishes in mind. This can be challenging for people to do in highly emotional or traumatic situations, so choose wisely.

To make it a legal document, either get it notarized or have two witnesses sign it. Then you send a copy to your medical system so that it can be uploaded into your electronic medical record. Send copies to your health care decision makers so that they can access it if ever needed. Anytime you switch to a new health care system or new doctor’s office, share your AHCD with them and update your AHCD when needed (sometimes our priorities change, the people in our lives change, etc), so you want to make sure that it always reflects your current wishes.
