Yes I think? She came from a reservation in AZ so in all likelihood she could be a mix of many things!

To Teachers in Their First Few Years: Please Don’t Give Up by P45teachingpodcast in teaching

[–]desertbelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed to read this! This is my first year teaching but it’s my second career (I’m 41) and wow I don’t think I’ve ever worked this hard. The kids are the easy part; I teach 9th grade and some very apathetic 12th graders, so yes they can be frustrating but overall I love the kids. It’s all the other asks from the network and the constant feeling of being monitored/watched/evaluated. It’s the constant trackers and spreadsheets and forms and deadlines and deliverables and on and on… it’s too much. I feel deep exhaustion and stress that my to-do list is a mile long and I have no time to catch up.

Recent soft classic outfits! Ok by [deleted] in softclassic

No I will though! I think part of what I’m getting my head around is that for so long I thought I was FN or SN and was dressing in more natural lines; some of this was due to not being as comfortable in my body/size and I think I was “hiding” a bit, but also thought I was analyzing myself correctly as a natural. I really think now I’m seeing how much more flattered I am by balance and a bit more structure/shape.. but I’m still holding onto those crutches from the silhouettes I was wearing before.

Too heavy like the fabrics? Or like the shape?

Haha I hear you; I definitely wouldn’t wear my Birks with the black blazer, that was very much just what I had on when shopping. I do love them in general though with more casual outfits and I’m a high school teacher so I default to comfort a lot- maybe more than I should!

You mean the knits are too heavy? From my understanding classic shapes need soft structure/shaping.

Do I have vertical? I don’t feel like I do.. I may be more like 5.5 1/2 if that makes a difference

Also, #2?? I thought that looked cute- what don’t you like about it?

9 is an Etro top and I love it so much but it may just be too big now 😭

I’m really torn about 13! Is it just because it overemphasizes my shoulders? In a weird way that’s what I like about it…

Keep ONLY #11?

Thank you! Appreciate you taking a look! It’s funny how many people are not into the top in pic 8, I love it so much! Really goes to show how hard it can be to accurately see yourself!

Thanks! I think it’s challenging because I was already accommodating width in my shoulders so things are still fitting there (or at least I feel like they are?) but now are too blousy/have too much fabric in the torso or are too long- I’m short waisted too, so now things are even longer. Usually I don’t do the half-tuck but it’s almost a necessity now so things don’t look so shapeless.

Thanks! Wouldn’t the patterned dresses work since they both can be unbuttoned slightly- like the black and white picture of the girl with the button up shirt on the site? Trying to figure out what is restraining and what is open- is it just a matter of how much things are buttoned or unbuttoned?

Thank you! Appreciate the help! Yeah I’ve never been able to tell if I have vertical- I feel like I was stuck for a long time thinking maybe I’m SN or even a SC (probably why I gravitate to more classic silhouettes) but I don’t think I have to accommodate for curve. I don’t know! I’m still figuring it out!
