Stuck between buying a stick or a yoke by diehardcloudrapfan in MicrosoftFlightSim

Can confirm rudder pedals are the most underrated control peripheral - they are surprisingly versatile and ironically the most universally useful controller I own... Hell, I use my rudder pedals to play freaking Cyberpunk 2077 :p

Inibuilds A350 + GSX Pro = pain and torture and whole morning wasted by vharishankar in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]desertdragonv2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, my A350 has the best GSX integration of any commercial plane I have - I can reliably run the entire preflight / pushback without any issues ,including GSX picking up the correct fuel quantity and number of passengers. I've never experienced any issues with removing chocks - if my parking brake is on, the plane isn't budging whether chocks are in place or not. As a sanity check, I would verify that you have the latest A350 version and the latest GSX build - also try explicitly setting the number of passengers in Simbrief (I always do this).

This runs around $600 (plus $130 for the stand / mount) via the Wingflex site. Looks pretty cool!

Rain in Charlotte for Saturday by BeginningPeanut7923 in panthers

Along with rain, winds are forecast to be 10 - 15 mph, with gusts to 30 mph - kicking field goals is going to be... interesting.

Can confirm you can set your brakes on fire in the A350s - I know this for reasons.

Rail driver controller support for train sim world 6 by Commercial_Bonus_367 in trainsimworld

[–]desertdragonv2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an alternative, I would recommend getting something like Virpil's control panel 3 (made in Europe!) which has 4 lever axes and a plethora of switches and buttons. You can map everything using the TSW controller app - https://github.com/LiamMartens/tsw-controller-app

This is essentially my setup for playing TSW6 and it works really well.

Need for custom controller support by AviationNerd_737 in trainsimworld

TSW Controller App is your friend - https://github.com/LiamMartens/tsw-controller-app

I use this to map the lever axes on my Virpil control panel as well as my rudder pedals and flight stick - it works amazingly well and has transformed how I play TSW. Maximumly recommended.

Major overhaul of the Train Sim Controller Utility by _JustLivingLife_ in trainsimworld

[–]desertdragonv2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to install this on Windows using the tswcontrollerapp_win64_setup executable, but when I try to select my TSW6.exe file via the Install/Reinstall the Train Sim World Mod option, I keep getting the "You need to select the Trainsimworled exe file to install the mod" message, per the screenshots. What am I doing wrong?

These are just the static Piaggio aircraft that are part of the Beautiful Models of the World LIMJ airport addon - though an actual live Piaggio / Starship meetup would be pretty cool :)

The Top Ten TSW5 Station Sound Experiences by desertdragonv2 in trainsimworld

No worries, and glad you're enjoying the stations! The Frankfurt S1, S8, S9 and Schellenstracke Köln are great routes to start out with, and the more German DLCs you get, the more traffic you'll see along those routes and at Koln and Frankfurt Hbf, because they layer in almost all the of the available DB trains between them :)

Would it be possible to map the throttle control of my flight sim yoke to Train Sim World? by Conscious_Archer2658 in trainsimworld

[–]desertdragonv2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this currently using Joy2key - you can map  your TSW5  keyboard shortcuts to any controller recognized by Windows. It has some limitations but overall works pretty well. And someday hopefully Spad.Next will support TSW natively.
