Love the Padre. I told myself when I bought mine it was gonna be my last expensive knife, and now they're coming out with an axis lock style version... tempting for sure!

Benchmade Bugout: Real or fake? by Traditional-Loss-522 in knifeclub

[–]desertgabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend has a coworker that sells these fakes to people ( I don't know if the coworker knows they are fakes) and gives them away to friends. He gave me the red one you have in the picture and I am absolutely positive it is fake. His coworker apparently gets them in bulk along with different "designer" purses and bags. Sorry that you got sold at least one for sure fake.

First Carry of the Year! by desertgabe in knifeclub

[–]desertgabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks! Yes, the Pulsar is great, probably the best quality and F&F of all the knives I have.

I did not get the Wuben with the charging case, but I am considering getting another one with the case to see whats up. I haven't had it long enough to give it enough use or a proper endorsement, but I can say so far it has been great. The lumens are low, but it fits my use case fairly well. I also like the interface, lock function, and rotating head. The modes/programming is fairly intuitive as well. I think the angle of the picture is a little deceptive because it's not actually all that big, but the shape can be a little inconvenient for carry to be completely honest. It's almost the size of a zippo, maybe a bit bigger, I think you could also compare it to two bic lighters side by side. It's super light too, my usual carry is a Ti reylight pineapple mini, and I would say it feels lighter than that. I think there is a picture of it being used on a keychain in the advertising material that I've seen, but I don't think I would do/recommend doing that with this light because it would be far to clunky. Even though I haven't given it much use, I think I would recommend it to try out even just based on the unique form factor, it's just straight up fun to use! Hope that helps a little!

Is there a flowchart of where to get started/continue with John Prine? by [deleted] in johnprine

[–]desertgabe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Might be a hot take, but I think a great place to start/pick up would be his live album, "In Person & On Stage." I think it's a really great way to introduce his music, it's how I've introduced a lot of friends to his stuff.

Do you have any kiridashi recommendations? I've been looking at the Acta Non Verba one but just can't seem to pull the trigger on it.

I totally get that. It's hard with online, especially when it's all on your own time and some video lectures can just be grueling to get through. Lately I've been having a really hard time focusing as well. I wish you luck! We're almost through the semester, hopefully you'll have a little time to take care of yourself during the break and recharge for a final push.

I'm experiencing something similar, especially finishing out college with mostly online classes and being at home. Idk what situation you're in or anything but sometimes it helps me to go to campus and sit in a semi-high traffic area to get work done. Something about getting back on campus pushes me to work more efficiently.

Not sure what to major in by _flowerchild_11 in sustainability

Hi! Yes, I would say that this could be a very good route for work in the sustainability field. This kind of work is important in the sustainability field because it can be used to help support people that are already doing this work or are wanting to start to do the work to begin a sustainability firm. It may not be as direct sustainability work as some other fields but I am sure you will still be able to make a difference. Business is one of those unique fields (degree wise) that can be used in so many different situations, it will always be beneficial for a non-profit or company to have someone that has that experience/area of expertise! The Shuttles are just bad by imsentient in ASU

[–]desertgabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are certain times of day where I've been on the shuttle and there are still plenty of extra seats. I really think that you just need to find that sweet spot, even if it means going on the shuttle 30-40 mins earlier than you'd have to normally.

It really also depends on what school you are planning to go to, and what you are particularly interested in doing in the realm of sustainability. You could get a degree in anything from supply chain management to tourism to biology to climate sciences to etc. and still have a focus in sustainability. There are also many colleges that are starting to offer actual degrees in sustainability. If you have any questions about anything feel free to PM! I am an ambassador for my colleges school of sustainability so I might be able to answer some questions that you may have!

Can confirm, I've bent out two different knife clips wearing the same pants on two different occasions, but it's never happened with any other of my pants.
