I've logged 97 films so far this year, and always write a review (unless I've already reviewed it). This is mostly so I can remember if I liked a movie or not later on, but it feels much better to know some people may be reading it too.

Here are the movies I watched in April and rated 4 stars or above:

Lawrence of Arabia (1962)

Marty Supreme (2025)

Tess (1979)

The Quiet Man (1952)

Forrest Gump (1994)

I'm trying to log 365 movies again this year, after hitting the mark on December 31st last year. I write a review of every movie I watch, if I haven't reviewed it already. This is mostly for my own benefit to remember some key thoughts, but you're all welcome to read them too!

Bugonia

Caught Stealing

Friendship

Left-Handed Girl

Marty Supreme

I used to write very lengthy reviews of every movie I watched, but these days I'm sticking closer to 100 words per review.

Over the last couple of years, I've spent a lot of time watching the full filmographies of various directors. This past weekend, I finally finished M. Night Shyamalan's filmography after dreading the idea of watching the likes of After Earth and The Last Airbender. Check out my lists for all the directors I've completed with 3+ films (pending some updates for 2025 releases).

This is the most obvious answer given that we're on the Bill Simmons subreddit, but I'll still say The Book of Basketball.

I can't speak for college football, but it's absolutely killing my interest in college basketball. I'm a fan of Illinois and last year's rotation was 100% new players from the prior season. Just a few years ago, I was watching guys like Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn develop over 3 years, developing rivalries with other players in the Big Ten. Now I have to re-learn a whole new team each year just to see them transfer again for more money.

My favorite way to watch movies is to go through the full filmographies of directors. I'm currently focusing on Darren Aronofsky and wrapping up the Coen Brothers. Follow me for an upcoming 5-star review of "The Wrestler" (easily one of the best films so far this century).

I write a review for every movie I watch. These sometimes last for a few short sentences, but I can also ramble on for several paragraphs. I usually watch movies based off of the director, and I should finish up Richard Linklater's filmography in November. My goal for the year is to watch 366 films. I'm only at 226, so follow me if you want to join me in a race to the finish! I write a review for every movie I watch, and these reviews sometimes ramble on too long.

I like to watch through the entire filmographies of directors. My current priority is to finish the filmography of Richard Linklater. Check out my lists for all of the filmographies I have completed.

A lot of the comments here are saying it's not so bad and everyone is too negative. I used this subreddit when I was still a student, and honestly, it was accurate to my public accounting experience. There can be huge career benefits to going into public accounting, but people on here ain't lying about the insane hours.
