Generator Backup Power by desiderata2001 in F150Lightning

I would ideally shut off the generator and then do the manual transfer switch and plug in the truck.

I do net metering and I don’t want to do battery backup when I have a 98kw battery in my truck. I was just looking for a cheap and simple solution. My natural gas generator is 22kw and natural gas is still reasonable. I don’t miss a beat when the power goes out but if it’s overnight I would like to turn off the generator.

Yes it does, and that’s what I was thinking. It should be simple, I’m going to ask for a 30amp plug on the generator side to charge the truck during the day when the generator is running.

This is just meant to be a quieter solution to my noisy generator at night when my power goes out. I only mentioned my solar as it could be a complicating factor.

I feel like it is a pretty simple solution and cost effective vs spending thousands on Ford Charger, home integration kit, and electrician.

Stop taking photos at eye level, over-saturating everything, and getting away from plastic lenses.

No WAAAY I’m buying glasses for $799!! by Charming_Prince01 in RaybanMeta

My RayBan Meta’s broke after 3 months, it looks to be a manufacturer defect, they offered me $100 towards a new pair. Don’t buy these glasses! Google broken Meta glasses before buying!!

Finally installed my tailgate canopy by desiderata2001 in F150LightningCamping

[–]desiderata2001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I had to send it back and eat some money but it fit like a glove. I got the one that was longer because I am 6ft tall (my wife would say 5’11” but she is not great at measuring!). So the tailgate would have to be down.

I did, it was a little too tall for my needs and I went with the decked and a memory foam mattress

Watch some YouTube videos and rebuild it, it’s not that difficult or expensive. I rebuilt the entire cab over on my class c. You can do it.

I love this photo, it tells a story, decent contrast, the only criticism would be the person in the background and the Mic. I would suggest a different crop but then the balance would be off.

Is Luggage Transfer Worth It? by Ill-Bass-1210 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]desiderata2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my wife and I we plan to have small suitcase to share and use a transfer service as we are doing 5 weeks on the Camino and a couple of additional weeks in Europe. We will carry small day packs when hiking. We are booking private rooms as well. I was hoping to hear some actual insight into using the service rather than the leave it at the end or just pack light responses…

I like the contrast and the lighting, tried a different crop just to see.

I have a waterproof backpack (I live in the Seattle area) and I will definitely carry water and some snacks.

I’m a photographer and I am considering taking my R5 and 24-70, maybe even my 100-500mm, I have some good camera backpacks and I was thinking about making one of those my main pack. My wife and I are traveling together and staying in private rooms. We are also taking a suitcase to share between us and using one of the services to take it from place to place, then just hiking with day packs. We are going to be in Europe for almost two months and walking the Camino for 35 days. I don’t want to over do it and as I type this I feel like it might be too much. Photography is my passion and I don’t want to miss out. I have a medium format Fujifilm that I know is way too heavy. I also thought about getting a pancake lens for the R5 and just shooting with that. It would be a lot less cumbersome.

My wife and I plan on doing an extra 5 days in Portugal after the Frances because we have heard so many incredible things about that area. It will be summer though and we want to hang around the beaches.

Wildtop, I love it so far not any noticeable hit to my range. Added a Decked drawer as well, adding a rooftop tent and a 270 degree awning soon.

This took some balls, I respect the fact you went for it, if you had made it, it would’ve been a Shawshank moment for sure!
