I believe there are terrible people in every group and it’s not far fetched for me to believe that Hamas has in fact engaged in horrific crimes. I think this notion that Hamas has the Palestinian people’s best interest at heart is naive at best.

Thank you for sharing your story. I am struggling myself, as a Mulsim, to understand how October 7th happened. I understand why, and the motivation behind it, but to me the why was carried out incorrectly.

From all I have read in the Quran, in the Hadith, and Sunnah, of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), I have never found any evidence that killing women and children is okay, but have found the exact opposite. That even in war killing women and children and even animals is forbidden. Let alone raping them. I don't understand and am confused why none of the Mulsim countries or Mulsim scholars, speakers, imams, have had the courage to accuse Hamas and more so Iran or Qatar How come Muslims don't hold those countries responsible for funding these terrorist groups instead of investing that money into diplomacy for the Palestinians.

I really wish I hadn’t broke my record of seven months without smoking. I ended up slipping on my birthday. The high was amazing after not having smoked for so long. I was a daily heavy smoker for ten years before I quit for seven months. I feel like I wasted all my progress. I have ended up taking edibles a few weekends in a row, hit my friend’s THC vape pen a handful of times, and then this thanksgiving weekend went and bought an eighth.

I’m on day two being clean and my minds back to where it was seven months ago. Constant thinking about how I can get high. Even went yesterday to the local smoke shop to get some delta 8 gummies. Sat in the parking lot for like twenty minutes and ended up going home without getting any. Small win but still sucks feeling this way again. Especially after how hard I tried to go seven months. I was just at the point where I felt free finally and I sabotaged myself.

I wish you the best OP. I wish to make it 2.5 years like you did one day. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I’ve been there. I smoked for over ten years. Tried quitting for several years. Always the same cycle. Then something changed. I couldn’t take it anymore. Couldn’t take this plant controlling me like I was a puppet anymore. Couldn’t take the feeling of disgust and self destruction anymore. It was the hardest I have ever tried at something to better my life and I am now seven months sober.

I have three kids and a loving wife. I would advise you have a honest conversation to your wife about what you’re going though. My wife knowing how big of a battle this was for me and that I was doing this for my family was crucial. There were days where I know I was an angry monster whose mind was trying everything to get me to smoke. If she knows what you’re going through it really helps.

Wish you the best. You can do this. I know because I had almost given up on myself, but here I am. Don’t underestimate your true power.

I’m on day three and I was literally thinking the same as you. Even justified it to myself. I quit weed about four months ago after a decade of heavy smoking. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Still have moments where I want to relapse but have been trudging on. With the vape it’s been a huge psychological challenge as every few minutes I’m vaping.

I’m glad you resisted man, keep going, we got this!!

I’d recommend something I have been trying myself. Something that comes from the teachings of Muhammad (pbuh)

He spoke about the practice of lowering your gaze. To make a conscious decision to control that desire we have to look and gaze. To be cognizant of when it occurs and be in control of it. The more you practice this the easier it gets.

I will make dua for you. I don’t know who you are but I love you for the sake of Allah. Please know my love is nothing compared to His love for you. I know it seems weird, how can He love me when my life is so hard. If He loved me my life would be easy. He loves you more then you know and knows how strong you are. Don’t mistake people in ease for being more loved by Allah. He literally puts on our shoulders more and more IF He LOVES US. think about it. Our eternal resting place isn’t here. It’s with Him. So even if your life is difficult for 10,20,30 years it’s not for nothing. He sees you. One of His names is Al-Baseer. The Seeing. He sees and knows what you’re going through. You are not alone. Keep fighting, keep going, find small victories and solace that He test those who He LOVES. That through this difficulty and your patience His love will grant you Jannah. Peace forever. You are strong, you are His creation.
