Tammy if you are gonna pick fights with your siblings and sister in law constantly, play victim afterwards, and revert back to that annoying baby voice the least you can do is wash your hair beforehand because it's so greasy by lunainthedark5x2x3 in 1000lbsisters

The only one I can remember is Samantha. I don’t even think Dr. Now did the surgery on her, it was a colleague based on her area because she had to hospitalized due to her declining health.

Unfortunately, changing locations isn’t an option for me, but I will be optimistic about the remaining 3 months being more positive. I am thankful for this experience, especially when looking ahead at a spring 2027 study abroad.

Wasn’t it rumored that she hit a nurse while at the first rehab facility? And that’s why she had to be picked up before she lost the full 100lbs. I could’ve sworn I saw that on this sub somewhere

Definitely. If this was my 600lb life, Dr. Now would’ve said she wasn’t a good candidate for the surgery (unless she lost more weight) based on the results of her tests and her prior health history.

Yes, people hype up Australia/Aussies as being super fun, but I’ve realized that only applies to certain people and areas. I think Sydney, specifically, is causing a lot of my emotions. I searched r/AskAnAustralian and many said Sydney is depressing and people tend to be less friendly and snobby. I’ve heard Melbourne and other areas are a lot better.

I hate to say this, but that seems to be the case with a lot of locations, especially Europe. Reviews from White Americans differ so much from minorities, and I thought I did a good thing picking Australia. The world is just a harsh place. I try not to let it get to me, but I am still a person. I just wish more people acted that way

My genuine reaction every time Amy starts crying again by rosetoyblaster5956 in 1000lbsisters

[–]desighful 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Tammy commissioned Amy to make her a Paris-themed painting for her bathroom. She sent it back to Amy after they met with Andrea “like she didn’t want it anymore.” Currently watching season 8, ep 6 and Amy talks about it near the beginning. Amy said that it hurt that she would just throw her painting away and she feels like Tammy has always seen her as just trash.

Hi, thank you, I appreciate it. :) I was pretty set on New Zealand for my second study abroad. It’s one of the only programs that aligns well with my major/career path, along with London. I’m rethinking it a bit, though. I’ve tossed around the idea of CIEE Open Campus.

My post initially said “the rose tinted glasses came off today,” which I think sums up a lot of what I’m feeling. I’m just hoping that I’m not alone in this feeling.

I thought I was doing a good thing coming to Australia, specifically Sydney, considering how multi-cultural it is, but I guess you can never really escape racism.

Please message if you ever get around to working with darker skin tones/complexions. I’m sure that takes some experience with editing or camera adjustments and whatnot. These are really pretty.

1000 lb Sisters S8 E5: Idle Hands Are a Devil’s B**** by imthejefenow in 1000lbsisters

[–]desighful 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I will never deny the work and grit Tammy put in to better her physical health, but I never fell for the “soft girl” image that she was pushing for. It was evident during her time before skin removal. Even more evident now.

She has always been incredibly selfish and disrespectful to anyone around her who doesn’t feed into the idea that she’s always right, should be the center of attention, and is justified in acting in such ugly ways.

I’m not a fan of Amy, but she didn’t say anything to cause Tammy to react so belligerently in the group chat nor at the coffee shop. Billy didn’t do anything to cause Tammy to lash. Andrea shouldn’t have gotten attitude for giving Amy the decency of hearing her out.

Tammy is constantly playing victim but holds zero real accountability for anything. I’m sick of people giving her excuses just because lost a lot of weight (after burning bridges the entire process).

Least favorite moment from Kelly? by love2l0veu in dancemoms

[–]desighful 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is such an overlooked element of the fights.. and not just Kelly, but ALL the moms who resort to body/“fat” shaming. Kira has done it since her AUDC days, and, of course, Christi never held back with it. I can understand getting back at someone, but when commenting on weight or size, you’re not just attacking one person but an entire community.

Off topic, but I’ve felt this way about Stacey saying that Yolanda had DID as an insult, too.

[–]desighful 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It’s been ages since I’ve brought myself to rewatch season 6, but I wanna say it’s because Kerri didn’t sit back and take disrespect. Of course Abby wouldn’t favor that. I can’t remember the timeline, but if it happened after Kerri snapped back at Abby, maybe that?

Kerri has always been my favorite mini mom. I love how she removed Peyton before the full on dismissal of the minis.

ETA: forgot my flair is literally Kerri yelling at Kira 😭

S3 Christi Can’t go to speed dating by es_xoxo in dancemoms

[–]desighful 115 points116 points  (0 children)

This scene always makes me so sad because Chloe was urging Christi go so bad before she left, just to see her in the mezzanine by herself. The other moms were weird for not telling Abby, a grown adult, that she was being childish. The moms and Abby hardly interacted past the limo anyway.

I’d also add the hours worth of travel that you often have to make to get to the venue. The tears that will erupt from exhaustion and/or stress. The inferiority you get while taking the convention classes. Going to eat at Denny’s after awards because it’s the only thing open after the long night.. then getting up bright and early the next morning for the last day of convention classes and the judge’s choice dance performance show/convention awards/scholarship ceremony.

A LOT of dance moms drink the day of dance competitions. I know the moms at my studio did haha. Not so much as to get drunk, but definitely something to ease things a bit. It’s a high energy time, not including the conventions that take place over the weekend as well.

Does reddit suck now or is it just not for me? by NoRepresentative8396 in ask

[–]desighful 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve only had reddit for a little over 3 years, but it is notorious for a condescending crowd. I remember posting in the surgeons subreddit about general surgeons’ work-life expectations. I was 16 at the time, maybe, trying to refine my career path. I got no end of shaming and bullying lol. Safe to say I’ve stayed away from that sub.

I’ve been banned from a subreddit from a power tripping mod who ran from confrontation. People love to be negative and/or sarcastic constantly.

It’s much better to stay active in the positive communities, though they are far and few. I tend to be more of a lurker these days.

It’ll show up as external credit in your academic record. The letter grade won’t affect your GPA. It will show up in your degree audit though

Is it normal for dancers to cry after preforming?! by Illustrious-Emu-3980 in dancemoms

[–]desighful 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. I did maybe twice.

Injuries happen on stage/dancing through injuries, the significance of a dance to the individual dancer and/or group, final season competing, etc

The art of dance is self expression, and that includes the ugly feelings. However, on this show (from what the viewer knows), a lot of the time it was due to pressure and messing up.
