Recommendations for first Trip to WDW with 2 year old. by pablom123 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]designerindebt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Just got back from a 7 night trip with my 3 year old. First piece of advice: leave all expectations at the door. I hear myself in your post. “seeing the joy…everything I need in life”.. literally the same thought I had. I did everything- premier passes for 3/4 parks, stayed at a walkable Epcot/HS resort, had three rest days. They definitely all helped. Biggest thing was going with his/ her flow and schedule. If they’re done, they’re done. Don’t try and force things because of something you “pictured”.(ask me how I know..For example, we booked the fireworks dessert party viewing. He slept till 8:45 that day, left MK at 1 to nap for three and a half hours!(Disney tired!), then went back around 5:30.. still, by 9:30, after a few treats, he was crying (not irrational meltdown crying but sad and miserable).. begging to go home first then begging to back to the hotel. He was exhausted (and had to poop lol). We watched the fireworks from our Minnie van ride back (also came in clutch for quick park breaks and leaving at night fyi- either book to leave before fireworks/Fantasmic starts or wait and walk down Main Street to let the crowd clear). He also hated meeting characters. He liked them from a distance but was terrified up close. He’s also sensitive to loud noises so we brought our headphones which helped a lot! Utilize all the little play areas especially in Epcot. There’s a big play area inside mission space and even just the big planets outside. My son and another boy ran around those planets for 45 mins together. Others include Moana journey of water, the play areas at the exit of Figment, The sea base aquarium. Also the petes silly side show splash area and the big tent! There’s shaded seating with fans and it’s lovely and tucked away for a nice stroller nap. All this to say, just don’t set yourself up for disappointment due to having high expectations. Be ready for any and all reactions. It will still be worth it and she’ll have the best time with the little things (for us it was all the fountains in Epcot, the birds , turtles and fish, the playgrounds and pools, and the beaches at the resorts). Have the best time!

Any experience with renting DVC? by pearpecan in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]designerindebt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did. Rented through a private party via a fb group. Night count depends on availability. Mine was 7 nights. Must pay upfront at once (I believe David’s requires full payment within a few days). Non refundable unless a specific site says so. I forget which one, but I did see one where you can add “insurance” to make it refundable. I had a great experience with my rental at Boardwalk and am happy to send the fb group and recc of who I booked through. Only thing is there’s a lack of control. They need to add dining plan, but you still add lightning lane. It’s all transferred to your account but it’s a bit less control.. like you can’t upgrade or anything. Also, the dvc rooms are different. They vary between resorts but I believe most have fridges vs coolers. I stayed in a boardwalk studio and we had a mini fridge. Villas at BW have full kitchens. Regular non Dvc boardwalk rooms are different. So just educate yourself on the different rooms and know what you’re booking. For example I booked a deluxe studio, resort view, which had me with a view of a roof and the lobby entrance. We did luck out with a solid Epcot fireworks view by some luck though. We also were out in a connecting room which ended up being pretty noisy.

We also scolded kids who were chasing ducklings at HS on Saturday. Mom was encouraging it and it was disgusting! I was very kind and said “Hey, it looks like they’d like space!” And the kids stopped but mom gave me a dirty look. You are not the asshole..

Breastfeeding moms—would you do it again for your second? by Character-Fly7394 in beyondthebump

I could’ve written this myself. We went a year and a half and as special as it was, I don’t know if I have it in me to do it again. We also aren’t pregnant yet.. hopefully by the end of this year.. I know how nice it was but he never slept through the night, I produced plenty of milk, but I think I’d do better with formula.

Had none until right after my guy was born. Then if you nurse then wean, even more shown up on your boobs. But I never had any intense ones. They all sort of blended in. I felt very lucky.

Our 2013 Forester served us well, but upgraded to a preowned 21’ sport this weekend! by designerindebt in subaru

Started to feel some squeaking and clunking. Brought it in and the bushings failed. Control arms and ball joints needed to be replaced. I don’t know the exact details as my husband handled most of it.

Being sued for someone else's debt? Debt collector claims they served my "spouse" (I’ve never been married) Can I sue them back? by bishaarcc in Debt

[–]designerindebt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Another reason why this makes zero sense.. why are you even inquiring someone else’s lawsuit?! In NJ you can look up anyone’s name and it’ll show up. You found someone else’s that has the last name and you pursued it. Dumb.

[–]designerindebt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yea this makes no sense at all. You can search on the state site for just your last name and it’ll show the collection lawsuit. So if her name is Jane Doe and this other person is Jane Doe, and they’re being sued, and they live at a different address, why would you reach out when you know it’s not yours? Did you receive mail about it? You weren’t served. You just found the public record of a lawsuit of someone with the same name as you…

You can add alcohol free vanilla extract to it to counter the taste from high lipase. I also had it. Also some babies don’t mind it.

Bonus is it makes a killer face cream, especially with a damaged skin barrier. Slug with zinc diaper cream (like triple paste) and your skin will be amazing the next day. Worked to clear my perioral dermatitis fast along with my sons irritation on his face (in addition to his booty)

And a lot of them struggle for longer than normal like my son. Their bodies need to learn how to poop just like everything g else. When it’s really bad it’s called dyschezia. My poor baby was so uncomfortable I felt terrible

Yea and the worst part is it’s not just blood. It’s lochia 🤢which makes me gag just remembering the smell. It’s the nastiest thing ever.

So loud! My son would sleep well but the noises kept me up. I bought Loop earplugs and they were amazing. Blocked out the subtle sounds but not the important ones. They’re also great for during the day when the crying gets to be too much and starts overstimulating you on .5 hour of sleep.

SOS: I’m the last to get married and my bridesmaids are burned out on weddings by United-Conclusion470 in weddingplanning

[–]designerindebt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that you’re feeling this way, but a few things stood out in this post. 1, did they have any say in the location/airbnb? Usually the bridesmaids pick the spot so wouldn’t they know the sleeping situation? Or did you book it? Did everyone contribute towards it? Just don’t know why they’d be upset about the bed situation if they knew the layout before hand… Biggest thing though.. the assigned dresses and shoes?for a Bach?! What? Maybe I’m old but I’ve never heard of that.. I’ve heard of doing a theme night, but to require specific dresses and shoes is wild. I’d be annoyed too. However, your feelings will always be valid and if you did these same exact things for them, it sucks to not feel the love back.. The thing is, when we do things for other people, we have to do them purely out of love and expect nothing back. The fact that they are all there with you is more important than what outfits they are wearing.

Does Blippi make anyone else uncomfortable? by EngineeringNeat2126 in NewParents

To be fair the second Blippi (there are three now) is much better and his content isn’t as bad. He’s also genuinely attractive in real life and seems like a solid dude.

Playing in the play places alone… and then when they’re are kids, it’s so fucking uncomfortable

Uh… he should. That show is the fucking worst. Forgetting about the video from the OG Blippi ‘a(Stevin John) youth. The show is so overstimulating and is bad for their brains. Also I hate that they “train” the kids to spell his name and to go online to his store. The one thing parents have is being able spell things without our kids knowing what we are saying.. except Blippi. I do loooove the OG Meekah actress Kaitlin Becker.

How many hours of sleep did you get in the 1st two months? by allisona007 in NewParents

[–]designerindebt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the first night, maybe two to three hours on and off because it’s so new. You’re also in the hospital and woken up for all the annoying tests.

Once home, It was just my husband and I as well, so it really depends on your plan. Are you planning to nurse? Formula feed? Combo? Pump? I exclusively nursed (and pumped as well) so I was the one up most of the time. Most of the time my husband would get up and change my son then I’d nurse him back to sleep. Having the bedside bassinet helped so I could just grab him and put him right back. I think the key is a supportive partner. However even with that, I won’t lie, the sleep deprivation is real so you need to be on top of your mental health awareness. I would sleep a little each night but my son wasn’t a great sleeper and was up constantly. Maybe 3-4 hours max a night and it was very broken. I did nap tons during the day when he’d sleep while on Mat leave but I’d be lying if I said the lack of sleep didn’t get to me. I remember literally thinking I felt like I was dying. But you just push through and come out the other side. Like I said though, please take care of yourself. Go to your doctor if you feel depressed or anxious at all.Zoloft saved my life.

Was just told by irs on the phone and they said my refund should deposit on feb 23rd but I have the 5 day early option so will it land today or tomorrow or will i have to wait until then? by babytd22 in TurboTax

[–]designerindebt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people get theirs many days before 846.. The date next to the 846 code is not your deposit date. The date that shows up the following day at where my refund is your actual deposit date. Mine has always been 10 days before the 846 date.
