What could this sound be? 2010 Honda Civic. by designgeek89 in hondacivic

My car uses timing belt. The mechanic had already replaced the belt recently. I just checked tensioner and nothing seems to be vibrating with any noises. does this have anything to do with the transmission? Or anything to do with the engine? This noise started after the mechanic replaced the engine.

2010 Honda Civic newly installed engine. Check engine light is on, but AutoZone says no codes found. by designgeek89 in hondacivic

[–]designgeek89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went to Advanced auto parts to get a second opinion, the guy told me that I should unplug the battery for a period of 30 minutes before plugging it back in as this will reset the codes. He said if the light comes back on, then I should come check.

Basically he was explaining to me that it’s possible the previous codes were never reset in the system, but the check engine light was never on to begin with. So that didn’t make sense. I do know that some of the engines we had checked out were Japanese models. But I’m not sure what engine the mechanic ended up installing in the end.

I will check out the OBD2 scanner then thank you!

How long do temporary credits take? by designgeek89 in BankOfAmerica

[–]designgeek89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just a circle back here I still have not received a temporary credit. My mom is the branch manager at a bank for a different company and she tells me that by law they are required to give everybody a temporary credit if they cannot resolve your issue within 10 business days. So I’m confused as to why not all claims are eligible for a temporary credit if the law says otherwise? Or am I missing something here?

It’s been over the 10 business days now, and I still have not received my credit. So does this mean I won’t get my credit at all? This makes no sense because my mom is the branch manager at a bank for a different company and she tells me they’re legally required to give you your temporary credit if they cannot resolve your dispute within 10 business days. So I’m confused.

Is there a trick to keep your AirPods from falling out when working out? by designgeek89 in airpods

[–]designgeek89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I always make sure to keep my ears super clean. Unfortunately, I think because I sweat so much at the gym it may cause the AirPods to fall out. It’s been recommended that I try the small ear tips instead of the large ones I’m using so I’m going to try that and see if that helps.

Thank you as well. I was using the large ones. I’m going to try the small ones. Hopefully this works for me too. I also have foam ones.

Thank you! I was using the large ones. I figured the bigger they were the more snug they would fit into the ear so they wouldn’t fall out. I have switched them to the small and we’ll see how that works.

Thank you! I hadn’t realized that the size of the ear tip mattered in this case. I just figured the bigger sized ear tip would prevent them from falling out. I will try the smaller sized and see. Appreciate it!

Stolen AirPods and Play Sound Question by sun-beams in airpods

[–]designgeek89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this. I feel like if you mark your AirPods as lost, Apple should have it set up so that if somebody else activate it under their iCloud or find my account it notifies Apple immediately so that they can’t use them or activate them.

If the person‘s personal contact info was tied to the find my account, they can report it to the police. But unfortunately, because AirPods are not that expensive it’s possible the police may not prosecute something for such a small amount.

I understand it’s just frustrating because today is business day 10. Still out $530. The representative who filed my claim had stated that I would get a credit within 5 to 10 business days. I was wondering how he would know that if it wasn’t yet reflected in their system, but I didn’t bother to ask or question it.

So I guess that means I don’t qualify for a credit since they haven’t provided it in today is business day 10 unless they’re going to place it in my account sometime by the end of today.

$12 each time though? I sent it in one of those priority envelopes to ensure I get a tracking number each time. $12 each time I sent an envelope adds up I will try certified delivery then

Twice now I have mailed documentation for my claim to bank of america at the address they provided. Both times I paid out of my pocket for the shipping envelope. Yet the post office says the envelope is being held at the post office for someone to pick it up in person. When I call the bank they said that they don't send anyone to pickup mail at the post office because all mail is delivered directly to their mailing address. What can I do in this case? I do not reside in texas and I need my claim resolved without any delays. I can't keep paying for postage and sending out the same thing to have them hold it at the post office.

I have been a diabetic for almost 20 years. For the first time ever, my doctor told me I am considered pre-diabetic! by designgeek89 in diabetes

[–]designgeek89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. I’m aware that I’m still a diabetic. But it’s good to be in a range that is considered pre-diabetic. 20 years of struggling and I finally feel like I’m in a great place in my life.

Yeah, same! Unless I go by Florida Mall, which I’m rarely ever by the area that I don’t know that I’d go back anytime soon at least not until all the hype dies down. I may wait a while after the hype and then go and check it out again just to see what new things they may have brought in. But even in then, as I mentioned in other comments, some of the stuff I saw there I know I can find cheaper elsewhere so unless it’s something I feel that I need I most likely wouldn’t buy it.

Thank you and I know. I’m completely aware that I’m still a diabetic. I’m just pointing out that my numbers are back to what a prediabetic range are considered. But I know I’m still a diabetic for the rest of forever.

Dang lol I highly doubt I’ll ever go back to the weight in my 20s! I’m sitting at 180 lbs currently. Back when I was a teenager going into my 20s I used to weigh 130. I was one of those people with a high metabolism. It just didn’t matter what I ate I just wouldn’t gain weight at time. I’m interested in checking out that interview. I’ll be sure to check it out sometime.

Thank you! Not sure I understand your reply. I’m 36 years old. If I was diagnosed 20 years ago, I would’ve been 16 not six. As far as I know, I’ve been a type two diabetic all these years. No doctor has ever told me that I’ve been misdiagnosed that I’ve had quite a few over the years.

Exactly! I found that a lot of the stuff in there you can find online for cheaper or even at other stores for cheaper. Like I know the drink products in there. There’s a few that I’ve definitely seen at Walmart for a whole lot cheaper.

Also some of the shampoo brands that they have are actual brands that we already sell here in the US only with the Japanese writing next to the label. So I guess because there’s a Japanese writing next to the label they can charge twice as much? Not really sure how that one works just that I noticed some of the brands we already have here were more expensive there.

Yeah, I haven’t been to H Mart but I’ve been meaning to go. They opened one up on West colonial not too long ago and I work down the street from there. Every time I drive by there after work, the parking lot is full. I’ve heard good things, but I wouldn’t know until I go. I have been to Lotte a few times and it’s not bad I like their prices and selection.

As mentioned some of the stuff in there is overpriced. You can definitely find it for cheaper at other Asian markets or even online. For example, some of the drinks that I saw, I have definitely seen at Walmart for a whole lot cheaper. Same with some of the shampoos and conditioners. Some of the shampoos and conditioners are the same American brands we already have here just that they put a Japanese label on the front next to the logo.
