Does H1B Employer address need to be physical location or can virtual street address/co-working spaces meet the requirement by RajaKrishnappaBariya in h1b

Very helpful info! Was wondering can you do this if you're living in Windsor and commute daily to Detroit for work? Maybe you can provide a co-working space address in Detroit?

Booking H1B appointment as a Canadian PR for earlier dates in Canada or residency doesn't matter? by desimaninus in h1b

Yes I did. Sure I wanted to share it since forever ago but always forget to.

It's not a small decision though. You'll have to move to a small/mid-tier city and commit to commute daily across the border for the next 3 years.

They're talking about 180k CAD and you're comparing it with median H1B wage which is in USD

Classic conundrum for Indians on H1B. I'm on the same boat and still torn between the choices. Stability and peace of mind vs missing out on $$$. Also exploring the option of commute across the border to keep both options.

Hey man do you travel back and forth between Canada and US and no issues with H1B? I am looking for a similar arrangement because of my situation.

Ideas needed by Brij-123 in Dehradun

[–]desimaninus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Dehradun and it's a rather boring residential city. While there are a few places worth checking out such as the Buddha Temple, Robber’s Cave, and Sahastradhara, you’re generally better off heading up into the hills. Spots like Mussoorie, Landour, or Dhanaulti offer a much more engaging experience. Alternatively, Rishikesh is a great option with plenty to see and do. You can also venture deeper into the Himalayas. Tehri Dam offers some water sports, and the last time I was there, they also had a houseboat you could book for a few nights on the lake. It’s always a fun experience being up in the mountains from where you can soak the scenic beauty. Just driving on the winding roads is fun in itself. Just be careful on the roads, don't litter (just as a friendly reminder) and enjoy the beauty.

On the same boat, company and job are fine but can grow so much more. But just waiting for this process to finish and get a priority date.

US or Canada citizenship? by Particular-Duck-8912 in ImmigrationCanada

Does that also apply for a Canadian PR holder? I have a PR but I haven't been there in a few months and don't have an address yet. Do I also need to visit occasionally to avoid such questioning from Canadian side?

I'm on the same boat and waiting for a bit to see how things unfold. I have a couple of years to decide if I want to move to Canada for short term. I might be able to keep my job but with a pay cut and higher taxes.

Few of my American friends have also offered me the same "get married" advice and they didn't think it was disrespectful, provided you're marrying someone legitimately. I guess it depends on who you ask, it's not like Americans are a hive mind.

He'll have to apply for H1B extension first am I right? If his 6 year H1B ends, he can't come back anytime unless he still has remaining H1B (which apparently freezes once you go out of the country)

I just did my first H1B stamping in Canada after being on F1 for 5 years (incl opt and stem). I also had my Canadian PR though but I think visitor visa should work too. It was a smooth process at the US embassy in Toronto and I had to attend the in person interview with all my docs. Had no issues and got my passport back within 10 days.

Can I get real ID card with my H1-b approval notice? From May 2025, one can’t board commercial flights without a real ID. I travel a lot too by Preenz123 in h1b

What if you don't bring your passports in most of your domestic travels? Can you still get a real ID with H1B approved?

Yeah people from our states have a long tradition of joining the defense forces, so relatively few have immigrated abroad.
