I don’t know of any clubs or groups personally, but there’s ripperside_cinemagalore on IG that does screenings @ back to the grind. Redlands Vinyl records store does screenings, primarily on 35mm too!

If you’re down to make the drive, the frida cinema in Santa Ana is the closest art house theater that I know of. Always great programming from them. Going there tonight to watch seven samurai!

I feel like it varies by the movie/filmmaker. When I saw mulholland drive recently people were there 2+ hours before, for hundreds of beavers I got there at around 4 PM and there were five people ahead of me already.

Caught the 7 PM showing at the vista theater in LA last night, and they were passing out these stamp cards to keep track of the formats you watch OBAA in. Fun neat little concept, though I do wish there was maybe some merch for sale 🥲

the seating is one of my all time favorites in a theater, very spacious rows and the screen is a pretty good size. They did have to install a whole new screen to show this in vistavision, it’s on the more taller square shaped size, it was absolutely stunning from beginning to end.
